Single Mom Abbey is upset when her ex-husband wants to share custody of their 6 year-old son. She objects to every-other weekend visitation, and flatly refuses to allow the son to spend afternoons at his Dad's, even though she is at work during this time and the child is in day-care. She also resists any input from the Dad on their son's upbringing, calling him "controlling." Faced with the inability to cooperate on raising the son that is his, too, the Dad sues for custody. His argument is that since both he and the Mom work out of home during the day, there is no reason that the Mom should automatically be the custodial parent.
