Ambitious but troubled movie director Edward D. Wood Jr. tries his best to fulfill his dreams, despite his lack of talent.
Jeffrey Jones' monologue at the beginning of the film is a play on Criswell's monologue from Plan 9 from Outer Space (1959).
Hi, would you like some water?
Loretta King: No. No water. No liquids! I'm terribly allergic to them.
The sign on the "Screen Classics" building is designed in the Chicago font, which was designed by Apple Computer in 1983, thirty years after the film takes place.
The movie ends with the simple line "Filmed in Hollywood, USA", the same way as the real Ed Wood did it at the end of his movies.
$1,900,000 (USA) (2 October 1994)
