PG-13 | | Drama, Romance
The presidencies of Kennedy and Johnson, Vietnam, Watergate, and other history unfold through the perspective of an Alabama man with an IQ of 75.
This was one of two movies released in 1994 to have it's main character named Forrest. The other was On Deadly Ground (1994).
Hello. My name's Forrest, Forrest Gump. You want a chocolate?
When Jenny gets a job in Memphis as a "folk singer," Forrest goes to see her and tell her that he is shipping out to Vietnam. The year should be 1967 (born in 44, U of A 18 years later, 5 years playing football, graduation, enlistment). Outside the club in Memphis, Jenny tells Forrest he doesn't know what love is. Significantly, there is a Love's truck stop sign in the background. Musket Corp did not change their company name to Love's until 1972 and there most likely would not have been a location in Memphis yet. Very nice sign for visual messaging, though.
