Quotes

  • Mia : Don't you hate that?

    Vincent : What?

Mia : Uncomfortable silences. Why do we feel it's necessary to yak about bullshit in order to be comfortable?

    Vincent : I don't know. That's a good question.

Mia : That's when you know you've found somebody special. When you can just shut the fuck up for a minute and comfortably enjoy the silence.

  • Mia : Vincent, do you still want to hear my Fox Force Five joke?

Vincent : Sure, but I think I'm still a little too petrified to laugh.

Mia : No, you wont laugh, 'cus it's not funny. But if you still wanna hear it, I'll tell it.

    Vincent : I can't wait.

Mia : Three tomatoes are walking down the street- a poppa tomato, a momma tomato, and a little baby tomato. Baby tomato starts lagging behind. Poppa tomato gets angry, goes over to the baby tomato, and smooshes him... and says, Catch up.

  • Mia : I do believe Marsellus Wallace, my husband, your boss, told you to take ME out and do WHATEVER I WANTED. Now I wanna dance, I wanna win. I want that trophy, so dance good.

  • Lance : If you're all right, then say something.

    Mia : Something.

  • Vincent : [parks car outside a West Hollywood restaurant]  What the fuck is this place?

Mia : This is "Jack Rabbit Slim's". An Elvis man should love it.

Vincent : Come on, Mia. Let's go and get a steak.

    Mia : You can get a steak here daddy-o. Don't be a...

[Mia draws a rectangle in the air, though it's meant to be a "square"]

Vincent : Oh after you, Kitty Kat.

  • Mia : So did you think of something to say?

Vincent : Actually, I did. However, you seem like a really nice person, and I... I don't want to offend you.

Mia : Oooh! This doesn't sound like the usual mindless boring getting to know you chit chat. It sounds like you actually have something to say.

Vincent : Well, well, I do, I do. But you have to promise not to be offended.

Mia : No. No, no. You can't promise something like that. I have no idea what you're going to ask me. So you can go ahead and ask me what you're going to ask me, and my natural response could be to get offended, then through no fault of my own I would have broken my promise.

Vincent : Let's just forget it.

Mia : That's an impossibility. Trying to forget anything as intriguing as this would be an exercise in futility.

Vincent : Is that a fact?

Mia : Besides, isn't it more, ah, exciting when you don't have permission?

Vincent : Alright, alright. Welp. Here goes. Uh. What did you, um, think about what happened to Antoine?

    Mia : Who's Antoine?

Vincent : Tony Rocky Horror. You know him.

Mia : Fell out of a window.

Vincent : Hmm, hmm. Well, that is one way to say it. Another way to say it would be that he was thrown out. Another way would be that he was thrown out by Marcellus. And yet even another way to say it was that he was thrown out of the window by Marcellus because of you.

Mia : Is that a fact?

Vincent : No, no. It's not a fact, it's just what I heard. It's just what I heard.

    Mia : Who told you?

    Vincent : They.

Mia : They talk a lot, don't they?

Vincent : They certainly do. They certainly do.

Mia : Don't be shy, Vincent, what else did they say?

Vincent : Well, I'm, I'm not shy, um...

Mia : Did it involve the F word?

Vincent : No. No, no. They just said that Antoine had given you a foot massage.

    Mia : And?

Vincent : And nothing, nothing. That's it.

Mia : You heard Marcellus threw Tony Rocky Horror out a four story window for giving me a foot massage? And you believe that?

Vincent : [Chuckles]  Well, I mean, at the time I was told, it sounded reasonable.

Mia : Marcellus throwing Tony out of a four story window for massaging my feet seem reasonable?

Vincent : No, it seemed excessive, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. I mean, I understand Marcellus is very, very protective of you.

Mia : A husband being protective of his wife is one thing, a husband almost killing another man for touching his wife's feet is something else.

Vincent : But did it happen?

Mia : The only thing Antoine ever touched of mine was my hand, when he shook it, at my wedding.

    Vincent : Really?

Mia : Truth is, nobody knows why Marcellus threw Tony out of that four story window except Marcellus and Tony. When you little scamps get together, you're worse than a sewing circle.

  • Mia : Don't you just love it when you come back from the bathroom and find your food waiting for you?

Vincent : We're lucky we got anything at all. I don't think Buddy Holly's much of a waiter.

  • [Deleted scene]

Mia : In conversation, do you listen or wait to talk?

Vincent : I have to admit that I wait to talk, but I'm trying harder to listen.

  • Mia : I'll be there in two shakes of a lamb's tail.

  • Mia : I have to go powder my nose.

  • Vincent : I promise I won't laugh.

Mia : That's what I'm afraid of, Vincent.

  • Mia : Warmer! Warmer! Disco!

  • Mia : [after snorting what she thinks is coke; it's heroin]  I said God Damn! God Damn...

    [whispering]

    Mia : ...God damn...

    [passes out]

  • Ed Sullivan : [as Vincent and Mia enter]  Good Evening, ladies and gentlemen. Now, how may I help you?

    Mia : There's a reservation under Wallace.

Ed Sullivan : [scans reservation list]  Wallace...

Mia : We reserved a car.

Ed Sullivan : Oh, a car.

    [scans second list]

Ed Sullivan : [to doorman]  Why don't you seat them over there

    [points right]

Ed Sullivan : in the... Chrysler.
