After falling in the water and almost drowning, a young schoolteacher finds himself lying on a beach, unable to remember what happened. Unbeknownst to him, his rescuer is a mermaid, who has fallen in love with him. To pursue her love, the mermaid comes onto land and enrolls in his school as a student. Things don't work out as she planned, however, as she soon attracts the jealousy of the other girls in the school. To make matters worse, she must hide her secret from a gang of fortune hunters who would like nothing better than to catch their very own mermaid. —Jean-Marc Rocher <firstname.lastname@example.org>
This movie was made many years ago, however,it still brings back our sweet memories from time to time. The most unforgetable feature of this film is Christy Chung's beautiful look and her performance as mermaid, her image really is so attractive, the last scene and the swimming scene in the middle is so romantic.Plus Faye Wong's 2 amazing songs.Though the plot is rather simple and very similar to SPLASH (1984),it is still worth watching.the dialogue in the movie is pretty funny (if you are not from China or Hongkong may find that hard to understand because of culture difference) we shouldn't ask to much for a romance/fantasy comedy. After all,it is not made for those who like serious movie for instance Shawshank Redemption.
