Most characters are referred to by their Greek names such as Zeus, Hera, and Ares. However, Hercules is the Roman name of the Greek figure Heracles. The series is set in Greece and the two names would never have been used interchangeably. Though this is a common mistake with modern interpretations of the character.
The end credits for each episode of both Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess included an additional humourous message near the end of the credits. They were usually in the style of the "No animals were harmed..." messages featured in most end credits.
