PG-13 | | Animation, Action, Adventure
Based on the legendary video game series. This anime classic follows Ryu, a talented fighter who may be the greatest in all of the world, and Bison, the evil mastermind searching for Ryu's talents.
The monitor cyborg's visual printout lists Chun Li's master as "B.Lee". This is a reference to Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee is also an inspiration to the Hong Kong street fighter Fei Long.
Keep an eye on the new guy, he looks good.
The name of Ryu and Ken's master appears printed as "Goutetsu" when Ryu's and Ken's profiles are compared on a monitor. In the established continuity, Gouken is Ryu and Ken's master, while Goutetsu is actually Gouken and Gouki's teacher.
The original Japanese version of the film has a title card at the end of the closing credits: "COMING IN SPRING 1995 / Jean-Claude Van Damme / Raul Julia / STREET FIGHTER / Directed by Steven E. de Souza / NOW FILMING IN HOLLYWOOD."
The PG-13 has a lot less blood, is approx. 94 min. and has less harsh language. The Mature version is approx. 96 min., has a ton of blood, especially when Ryu fights Sagat at the beginning, has a lot of harsh language, and added footage to the Vega vs. Chun Li sequence. There are shots of her in the shower and more to the actual fight.
