I don't know why, but this show suddenly popped into my head. I remember watching this show when I was little. They always featured this show in the Philippines. It was a nice, heartwarming TV show for children. It was enjoyable and while there are lessons to learn, it wasn't preachy and wasn't being shoved down our throats. This brings back wonderful memories.

Maddy is an iCONIC show. Many will say its girly, I say its classic.

I am almost thirteen now, and sometimes, when I am up late, I stumble across "Madeline" on the Disney channel. I loved this show when I was little and I wonder why they don't show it at times when little children can see it. It's a lot better than the junk they show on "Playhouse Disney" these days. (Koala Bros., Higglytown Heroes, etc.) If they could bring this show back, it would be just as popular, if not, more than it once was. I think that Madeline had a big influence on children between the ages of two to six. Heck, I would still watch it. I hope to see Madeline on Disney Channel really soon.

I am saddened that "Madeline" isn't as more highly regarded than it is. It is a lovely, cute and positively charming children's series. I remembered watching it every day and loving it for a number of reasons:
1) I loved the simplicity of the stories. There is nothing complicated about these stories at all, they are easy to understand and handled effectively. Plus they keep true in spirit to the picture books.
2) The animation is lovely. Fluid, colourful backgrounds and simple, sweet character animation are things to like. Once again, the drawings and backgrounds are true in style to the picture books, and I appreciated that.
3) The music is memorable, and really pleasant to the ear. When I watch a cartoon series I like to hear a theme tune that is simple and easy to remember. "Madeline" does that, and the incidental music is very well composed as well.
4) The characters are engaging, particularly Madeline who is cute as a button and sometimes mischievous yet she means well. Miss Clavel is a wonderful supporting character, a woman who is firm and sincere, yet has a love for the girls, who are very endearing.
5) The scripting is well done. No complicated language or obscenities, something that kids and adults can understand, and I also like it that the odd message is taught and in a subtle way too.
6) The voice acting is quite excellent. All the voice actors bring enthusiasm to their characters, instead of being bland like they could have been they are emotive and like the characters they are engaging.
In conclusion, I strongly recommend this show, if given the chance it is well worth watching. It is definitely better than any of the terrible or the excellent-gone-mediocre cartoons now. If only the cartoons of the 80s and 90s could be brought back to us. Those were the best times, how I miss them. 9/10 Bethany Cox -
madelinefan-8058023 December 2020Wonder how I got my username from? Well, this is to blame. Madeline is a suprisingly good show from the start to end (despite all of the flanderazation during new adventures). While the specials (looking at you, Madeline's Christmas) can get pretty boring at times, the grand majority of episodes are pretty solid when it comes to voice acting, plots and humor. Not to mention that Pepito and Miss Clavell are pretty likeable too. The animation is pretty solid too. My only irk with the show is the (extremely) over-repetitive songs! Whatever you do, expect at least one song every episode.

julihouv16 May 2021I absolutely loved the older episodes of this show (seasons 1-3) but when they started airing "the new adventures of Madeline" it just got bad really fast. Madeline became very rude to all of her friends and she really sets a bad example for children. Before she was very humble and forgiving and she would let things slide but in the new one she's always getting mad at all of her friends and she turned into a huge jerk. Although it kind of got bad near the end the majority of the episodes are amazing with great stories to tell along with amazing lessons for children to learn and just overall a better show. I would 100% recommend this show but stay away from the new episodes!

10086cn22 July 2019There was one episode in particular, Madeline and the Wedding, that while watching I could not stop thinking about the Jameden ship. It's like anything that happened in that episode, I could associate and link with Jaiden Animations and TheOdd1sOut. I know it may seem weird to those people reading reviews of Madeline on IMDb but it's true to me! That's exactly how I felt!
