I really like Tom Rhodes and was looking forward to seeing him every week. Unfortunately, this was just a cookie-cutter "new teacher"/"fish out of water" show; chock full of clichés, stereotypes, and predictability. The pilot tried to use some of Tom's stand-up to connect with the students but it didn't quite work.

Not even veteran Ron Glass and future star Jensen Ackles were able to help Tom get past the trite scripts.

You can see the pilot episode on YouTube (though, Jensen is not in the pilot), posted in three parts by Tom Rhodes himself five years ago (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwYf9xe2Wos). This seems to be the only part of the series that's available (so far) since there seems to be no DVD available.
