Body of Influence 2

The original Body of Influence was a thrilling and highly erotic thriller. The sequel has none of the heat or interest of the first, and is completely predictable. The only similarity between the two films is that they both involve shrinks having affairs with their apparently very troubled patients. Jodie Fisher, the patient in this one, is lovely, but she's no Shannon Whirry (I guess its unfair to hold that against her -- Shannon Whirry is unique). When Daniel Anderson, the sequel's shrink, gives in to temptation, there's none of the lewd, gleeful release Nick Cassavetes displayed when he did likewise in the original. Skip this one and watch the original twice.

This film essentially begins with a psychiatrist named of "Dr. Thomas Benson" (Daniel D. Anderson) listening to a client by the name of "Leza Watkins" (Jodie Fisher) describe a recurring nightmare that she has been having which is causing her great distress. Quite uncharacteristically, while describing some of the more lurid details, Dr. Benson begins to daydream about his own erotic nightmare that he has also been having. Needless to say, this troubles him and, upon recognizing the danger of becoming too personally involved with this specific client, he subsequently refers her to a colleague who is better able to handle her case. Unfortunately, she steadfastly resists his attempts to distance himself from her--and this causes all kinds of problems for him from that point on. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that, up to a certain point, this film pretty much followed the same outline of its predecessor but deviated--rather badly in my view--toward the end. That being said, while Jodie Fisher was certainly quite attractive, the film seemed to fall flat in certain places which left me feeling somewhat disappointed overall and I have rated this movie accordingly. Slightly below average.

I taped this and was very enthusiastic to watch it because I enjoy sequels to soft core flicks and mainly because mid 90's skin flicks are very steamy most of the time.

The problem with this movie is that it feels like early 90's because of the dated camera angles, typical soft core music, and the well known "fake sex" techniques.

"Body Of Influence" has some good points...The lead actress is smoking hot but she does not have enough intense sex scenes. Speaking about sex; most of the scenes are dull and do not feel like it's a mid 90's production. The plot tries to go further and add some kinky sex scenes involving a mysterious masked man, and bizarre dreams. The result just didn't work for me even that the elements were given to add the word "Kinky" as a description to the movie.

Avoid this one and stick with the original.
