UK producer Kevin Loader joins comedy drama B Model, to be directed by actor Rachel Griffiths.

After 50 years in the film industry, producer Sue Milliken is convinced the current funding structure of government investment and the producer tax offset isn't working. Milliken regards the formation of Screen Australia as a wasted opportunity to revitalise the industry and she questions the value of the Australian Film Institute/ Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (Aacta). She outlines her vision for a more efficient and better targeted funding system in her new book, Selective Memory: A Life in Film. The tome is primarily an insightful and colourful memoir of a producer who served her apprenticeship at the ABC in the 1960s on Skippy and worked with the legendary TV producer Hector Crawford before embarking on films including The Odd Angry Shot, The Fringe Dwellers, Black Robe, Sirens,.. Dating the Enemy and Paradise Road, and serving as a completion guarantor. Like many in the industry, she hoped the amalgamation...

If you've seen one body-switching movie, you've seen them all, right? Well, that's not necessarily the case, for there are a couple of unique exceptions to the rule (as discussed below). However, most of these movies are quite alike and generally have to do with the aftermath of some mystical process gone terribly wrong. These films are often comedic in tone but would also hope to communicate some philosophical message about identity, yet they mostly succeed in wallowing in their own poorly scripted, slapstick-laden juices. While the so-called "Golden Age" of the body-switching movie reached a fever pitch in the mid-to-late 1980s, studios still can't resist popping them out on occasion to earn a quick buck. This weekend's The Change-Up is merely the latest edition, so let's just have a quick review of the body-switching movie, shall we?
Turnabout (1940): Here, we witness arguing married couple who pissed off a statue of Buddha.

The body swap comedy formula is getting another go around the yard - this time with pets according to Variety.
New Line Cinema and Mandalay Pictures are developing "Furry Friday", a live-action family film which aims for a four-legged take on the classic body-swapping comedy. This time instead of a mother-daughter swapping minds, it's a dog and a cat.
David H. Steinberg ("Puss in Boots") has been brought onboard to rewrite the script's first draft by Cathy Schulman ("The Illusionist") and Adam Stone ("Limitless"). The latter two will produce the film.
We've seen many versions of the bodyswap formula before, including the Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman-led "The Change-Up" opening this Summer. From two versions of "Freaky Friday", to Steve Martin and Lily Tomlin in "All of Me", Guy Pearce and Claudia Karvan in "Dating the Enemy", Dudley Moore and Kirk Cameron in "Like Father, Like Son", Rob Schneider...
