PG-13 | | Comedy, Romance, Sci-Fi
Grossly overweight yet good-hearted professor Sherman Klump takes a special chemical that turns him into the slim but obnoxious Buddy Love.
Eddie Murphy originally wanted John Landis to direct.
Professor Carla Purty:
I just had to come over and introduce myself because I've been following your work for many years and I'm a big fan!
Sherman Klump: Well, thank you very much! I'm fatter, er, *flattered* that you've been following my work the way you have.
Klump returns home after getting a date with Carla and puts a frozen dinner in the microwave. The frozen dinner has an aluminum foil cover that Klump does not remove, but there is no evidence of the sparks that would result.
During the credits, outtakes are shown.
When Sherman Klump opens the drawer in his desk and reveals the secret compartment containing all the candy, there is a row of 'Snickers' bars on the top. In some T.V. versions, at least in the UK, the word 'Snickers' is digitally altered to 'Chocky'.
