  • Considering the social implications of being gay in China (which the movie mentions) I feel this movie is not bad at all (bu zuo). Different aspects of being gay are documented and - the best part to my opinion - there is no sad ending like the guy dies and everything is in deep blue colors at the end. OK the characters are a bit larger than life but I guess most people would find sympathy with one or the other. It is true it feels a bit stale because it is "so true". But then again, this is Chinese reality and western folks should better have a look. As the other commenter puts it, there are moments where it feels long, but this is one of the small weaknesses of the movie.
  • Even if the movie is far from being original, the characters are well portrayed and Jordan Chan, overall, excellent in his role.Sometimes the movie seem a bit long, but it's a perfect alternative to Hollywood movies.
