The opening title sequence is a very specific and direct send-up of the main title sequence of the James Bond movie Thunderball (1965).
During the scene where Dick Steele rides the horse into an elevator at a hotel, the couple in the elevator with him is played by stuntman Loren Janes and his real wife, Ginger. Janes and his wife played the same roles in the same scene of True Lies (1994), which is what the scene parodies. Janes also worked on the stunts for this movie as well.
