According to Deadline, British director Julian Jarrold has just been hired by Mandalay Vision to helm the upcoming indie thriller Exit 147. Scripted by Travis Milloy, Cathy Schulman and Matthew Rhodes have signed on to produce for Mandalay alongside Lenny Beckerman.
Exit 147 follows a young father, who is driving across country to see his daughter. He “is stopped by a sheriff at Exit 147, and it turns into a psychological game of cat and mouse with deadly consequences.” Unfortunately, I’m getting some flashbacks to 2001 and the Paul Walker-led Joy Ride, but that’s just because of the whole “psychological game of cat and mouse” element I’m guessing; so let’s hope Exit 147 takes a different *ahem* route.

Germany based Constantin Film has acquired the film rights to Dave Zeltserman's forthcoming crime novel "28 Minutes". Travis Milloy (Street Gun, Just Like Mona, upcoming Pandorum) has been hired to adapt the screenplay, which will be renamed to Outsourced. Zeltserman's gritty novel follows a group of unemployed software engineers who plan a bank robbery that gets them in trouble with mobsters from Boston and Russia. "The book is very real and original with believable contemporary characters," producer Jeremy Bolt told Variety. "We want to make an intelligent heist movie that people can relate to." In addition to Jeremy Bolt, both Robert Kulzer and Paul W.S. Anderson are producing. The trio previously produced the live-action Resident Evil trilogy. Paul W.S.
