In Canton, Mississippi, a fearless young lawyer and his assistant defend a black man accused of murdering two white men who raped his ten-year-old daughter, inciting violent retribution and revenge from the Ku Klux Klan.
Kiefer Sutherland and Alexandra Kyle appeared in Eye for an Eye (1996).
Ever seen a man executed?
Jake Tyler Brigance: No.
Ellen Roark: What I suggest is you go to an execution, and see a man be killed. You watch him die, and you watch him beg!
The movie shows Carl Lee being found not guilty by reason of insanity and ends with him fully free and able to attend the same event as Jake. That is not how that law actually would be carried out. While Carl Lee wouldn't face jail time, he would certainly face either a term of commitment at a mental facility or supervised probation, and would not be able to resume a normal life as quickly as is shown here.
The first name of the Jake Brigance character becomes ''Jack'' Brigance in the Italian version.
