  • Series One was fantastic. Nice gentle stories, an array of quirky characters, comedy, sad moments but ultimately thoroughly enjoyable episodes. It was easy viewing to switch off and relax.

THEN SERIES 2 HAPPENED Enter Lightfoot and it all turns to crap.

The whole series revolves around a character called Lightfoot who is always lurking in the shadows, giving orders, and looking out of windows looking all mysterious.

There is no lighthearted comedy, no memorable characters, just every episode revolving around guns, drugs, military, double crossing and The Pentagon!!

No wonder the show never continued.
  • This is probably not the most deep and meaningful viewing I have done it my life, but as someone who likes planes and Gary Sweet it was nice easy viewing. I am not sure if i'm going to be tarred and feathered for saying this, but this series was original to begin with as well as acting as a platform for rising star Martin Henderson (great in The Ring) The script was good and really did ascend above the normal soppier rubbish we sometimes get on TV. The characters did have a tendency to be cardboard cut-outs, but they were acted out so endearingly that we still enjoyed them.

You could do a lot worse than give this a go.
  • Suspect another reviewer watched episodes out of order from what they said. But this is one of my favoright Aussie tv shows from the 90's. The stories are not complicated and it has dated poorly in some areas but it is still really enjoyable unpretentious tv.
  • It is a fantastic series, but one problem I noticed was when in one episode when Lexie met her birth mother, her mother was from Poland, yet in the next episode Lexie was trying to contact her birth parents ... Confusing ... despite this, Big Sky is a high flying series with unexpected twists and turns, and a bit of high octane action and laugh out loud comedy moments
  • My wife and I recently discovered Australian movies and TV and have found many shows we've come to love. We started with Mcleod's Daughters and started following actors we liked from each show or movie they appeared in. We came across Big Sky and it started out very good. Some of the characters are not very well developed but overall we were enjoying it. That is until the story lines got stupid. Lauren threatened leaving to take a job in Perth multiple times? Shay finding and meeting her Polish mother and then in a later episode deciding to look for her mother and father only to find out they moved many years before with no forwarding and there being a possibility of her mother being a drug addict who O'd. I think a kid in grade school could have done a lot better keeping the story lines straight. Not surprising why it got canceled.

Just found Big Sky on the 7+ app. Fantastic combination - aviation and Ally Fowler - one of the best actors Australia has produced and definitely the most beautiful.
