A straight laced propane salesman in Arlen, Texas tries to deal with the wacky antics of his family and friends, while also trying to keep his son in line.
In the episode where Bobby is afflicted with gout, he eats at a deli that has portraits of famous comedians on the wall. One portrait is Johnny Hardwick, the voice of Dale.

Early on Hank states that he was born in 1953. Then in another show Hank says that he graduated Arlen High in 1974, which would make him born in 1956. Later Hank learns that he was born in New York on the day that Fidel Castro visited Yankee Stadium, which was April 15, 1959.
