The Boys has been collecting cast and crew members from Supernatural like they are Infinity Stones. It started off with showrunner, Eric Kripke, who was the mastermind behind both the series; which was followed by Jim Beaver and Jeffery Dean Morgan, who appeared in the trailer for the fourth season. Ever since Jensen Ackles showed up in the third season of the superhero satire, fans of the hit CW series have wondered when the other half of the Winchester brothers will arrive.

It would seem that they will not have to wait too long. Recently, Jared Padalecki, who played Sam Winchester, gave an interview where he commented on the matter. The actor revealed that he has been asked about it before. However, one core aspect of the Prime Video series has made him hesitant; the nudity.

For the first time since beginning this editorial series, we’re discussing a documentary rather than a fiction film. That’s because Yellow Veil just released a supersized documentary about the history of the Erotic Thriller called We Kill For Love: The Lost World of the Erotic Thriller (2023).
Clocking in at 163 minutes, this is a thorough, occasionally indulgent documentary written and directed by Anthony Penta. The doc uses a framing device featuring an archivist character, played by Michael Reed, cataloguing countless VHS tapes and watching “Suspect Interviews” (aka talking head interviews) in his dimly lit office. These segments recur throughout We Kill For Love, and also feature voice-over narration from Penta that are partially purple prose, partially quotations from academic articles and books on the genre.
The vast majority of the documentary, however, is taken up by clips and talking head interviews. There’s a good variety of interviewees, including scholars such Linda Ruth Williams,...

It’s exactly one week after the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, and her nerves having been frayed like a rodeo rope, Kacey Musgraves is today opting for some self-care. This is how she finds herself, raven tendrils piled carelessly atop her head, pale cheeks slightly flushed, in a floral and fetching Dolce & Gabbana swimsuit and up to her armpits in steaming hot water in a private session at Nashville’s Holiday Salon & Bathhouse (“Sweat Out Your Sins,” its bumper sticker beckons, with a cheekiness that could easily...

As the sun rose over Columbia, Missouri, I found myself refreshed and ready to go. I’d slept on a couch for free (a quite comfy couch) and gained some of my energy back after the night before. I can say with some certainty that this energy has disappeared now that it is, yet again, midnight and I’ve just gotten home. There’s no need for pity though. The selection of films today was brilliant, broad, flawed but nevertheless exciting, something that True/False is certain to provide.
The day started out with Kirsten Johnson’s Dick Johnson is Dead, a documentary about grief for a person who has never died. Johnson has become a master of the meta-documentary, with her film Cameraperson capturing an emotional portrait of being a cinematographer for documentaries. Now, she’s returned to kill her dying father Dick, over and over and over again.

It took thousands of years for people to pervert the ancient Eurasian figure of the swastika (often used to symbolize good luck) into the world’s most notorious illustration of hate, and even the German nationalists who first co-opted it as an expression of Aryan power had to wait several decades before it was formally adopted by the Nazi Party. But it only took about 10 years for a harmless frog named Pepe to be radicalized into the internet’s default expression of nihilistic evil, and his actual transition from benign meme to alt-right icon happened much faster than that. And the sweet-natured San Francisco cartoonist who conceived Pepe had to sit there and watch it happen.
On its surface, Arthur Jones’ “Feels Good Man” is the sympathetic portrait of a man who created a monster, and then (eventually) took it upon himself to reclaim Pepe the Frog as an emblem...

It has been more than three years since Hayley Atwell blew away audiences with her tough and beautiful portrayal of Agent Peggy Carter in 2009’s “Captain America.” And yet, in a way it feels like no time at all has passed with ABC’s premiere of the “Agent Carter” limited-run series.
In the film, which took place during the height of World War II, Carter was an active agent, kicking butt and defying gender stereotypes. The series picks up the action a few years later in 1946, and those gender stereotypes are back and louder than ever. After the men returned from the war,...

The 2nd annual South Texas Underground Film Festival, running Oct. 3-6 in Corpus Christi, Texas, is a massive celebration of international alternative cinema, including plenty from Texas filmmakers, of course.
The fest opened on the 3rd with the drop-dead hilarious comedy Pictures of Superheroes by Austin filmmaker Don Swaynos.
But, there’s still plenty more to see throughout the jam-packed weekend wherein films screen from morning until, well, early into the next morning.
The film that’s absolutely not to be missed is the screening on the 6th at 10:30 a.m. of Savage Witches, the amazing celebration of the art of filmmaking by British directors Daniel Fawcett & Clara Pais. A colorful spectacle of multiple filmmaking styles, Savage Witches is a real joy to experience.

Opening this Friday is the Abhinay Deo directed, Aamir Khan produced comedy Delhi Belly. The film stars Imran Khan, Vir Das and Kunal Roy Kapoor, who are caught up in the mad cap story of chases, gangsters and all sorts of trouble that make up Delhi Belly. The boys club is joined by actress Poorna Jagannathan, who plays one of Imran’s colleagues Menaka. Calling the film completely outrageous, Poorna says it is a hysterical comedy that had her falling on the floor laughing from her first read of the script. She sat down and talked with us about working with Imran, Aamir and what you will say while watching this film!
How did the role in Delhi Belly come about?
I was in India for a wedding and I bumped into a friend who was doing the costumes for the film. He knew my work from New York and said,...

Katherine Brooks' name was in the air yesterday — or, well, it was in every single Hollywood trade. The much-adored director of Loving Annabelle has been attached to a biopic about female jockey Julie Krone for some time, and yesterday we found out that casting is finally underway. The film will begin shooting in Michigan and New York in April.
Julie Krone is the first female jockey to win a triple crown race (Belmont Stakes, 1993), and the only female jockey to ever appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated. In 2000, she became the first woman to be inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame, and rightly so: Krone racked up 4,000 wins and $90 million in purse earnings during her illustrious career.
Katherine Brooks is not only directing the biopic, she's adapting the screenplay from Krone's autobiography, Riding For My Life, in which Krone says of herself: "As an athlete,...
