According to Kel Mitchell, Abe Vigoda, who was 76 at the time of filming, was able to run and climb over fences on set despite his age.
Manny's El Loco restaurant in West Covina, California was used for the filming location of the Good Burger restaurant. As of 2023, the restaurant is still in operation, although it now goes by the name Peter's El Loco restaurant.
The theatrical trailer featured a scene that did not quite make it to the film. It featured a Good Burger customer saying "Just give me a good shake" and then Ed reaching over the counter to shake him.
Dan Schneider, who plays Good Burger manager Mr. Bailey, also co-wrote the screenplay and co-produced this film, in addition to creating the "Good Burger" sketch and characters on which this film is based. Plus, he created many other Nickelodeon shows including All That (1994), which also starred Kel Mitchell and Kenan Thompson.
