The biggest night in music is finally here! Tonight, the top names in music gathered for the 67th Grammy Awards.

The competition is stiff this year, with Beyoncé leading all nominees with 11, thanks to Cowboy Carter. She scored nods in not only the three major categories — Song, Record, and Album of the Year — but four different genre categories: Country, Pop, Rap, and Americana. Her 11 nominations also made her the most nominated artist in Grammy history with 99 (she previously shared the record, 88, with her husband, Jay-Z).

Though Xo, Kitty revolves around several romantic relationships and a shape beyond a love triangle for its main character Katherine Song Covey (Anna Cathcart), lovingly dubbed “chaos queen” by her platonic soulmate Q (Anthony Keyvan), Q and Kitty’s friendship also anchors the show.

Cathcart is the first to acknowledge that her courageous character still has much work to do in figuring out her “very big, very chaotic heart” as well as supporting her friends, particularly Q as much as he has her back throughout the series.

“I feel like Q shows up for Kitty so much. There were so many times watching the season where I was like, ‘Girl, you need to show up for your friends,’” Cathcart told Deadline. “And we all know that Kitty always means well and sometimes, she just can’t help it.

Letterboxd released its list of the most-watched actors and highest-rated films of 2024, based on ratings from its 17 million users. Zendaya was the most-watched female actor again, thanks to her roles in ‘Dune: Part 2’ and ‘Challengers.’ Dune: Part 2 was the top-rated movie of the year, with a 4.4-star rating, and its director, Denis Villeneuve, was the most-watched director.

Zendaya’s ‘Dune’ co-star, Timothée Chalamet, was replaced by Willem Dafoe as the most-watched actor. Dafoe appeared in four big films last year: ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,’ ‘Saturday Night,’ ‘Kinds of Kindness,’ and recently released, ‘Nosferatu.’

Typically, the dance/electronic field at the Grammys is pretty easy to predict. Last year it was obvious that Fred Again was ahead of the competition, with four nominations overall. The year before Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” was the predictable winner, as it was far and away the most popular and acclaimed album in the lineup. However, this year is more interesting. While there’s one big neon green lock, there are a lot of possibilities in the other category, with perhaps the threat of a veteran act pulling off a surprise win.

Let’s start with Charli Xcx, whose “Brat” is up for Best Dance/Electronic Album. She is easily the frontrunner, with “Brat” being the biggest popular hit in the lineup, as well as the most critically acclaimed album of the year. The album received nine nominations overall, including Album of the Year. Another serious contender is Justice for their album “Hyperdrama.

Ever since Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas welcomed their baby girl Malti Marie in January 2022, the couple have shared some special family memories on social media, including many celebrations in honour of Chopra’s Indian heritage.

1. Malti Marie’s First Trip To India

In April 2023, Chopra shared a special mother-daughter moment with her one-year-old while taking her on her first-ever trip to India, where Chopra was born. They visited Siddhivinayak Temple, a Hindu temple in Mumbai, India to receive blessings from Lord Ganesha.

Launching on 15 February, TLC (Tender Loving Care for Trans-Led/Trans-Loved Cinema) is a new podcast mini series in which trans curators, writers, and thinkers in the realm of cinema unpack some of the challenges and joys involved in being a trans person in the industry. Part of the Inclusive Cinema project, it aims to put a neglected group of people back on the cinematic map.

With contributions from Trans+ on Screen founder Alice Blanc and Fringe! Queer Film and Arts Festival London programmer Jaye Hudson, amongst others, the series examines works including the experimental Japanese film Funeral Parade of Roses and documentary Born To Be, and it is supported by written resources. It aims to provide support for film programmers by addressing difficult issues around selecting and presenting trans-themed films.

“Creating TLC has been a process of (gender) euphoria," said project consultant So Mayer.

HBO Max is expanding its kids and family programming slate with B-Loved, a ghostly romance two-part special event starring Peyton List (Cobra Kai), along with three live-action acquisitions, including all three seasons of Hank Zipzer, based on the book written by Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver, inspired by Winkler’s life.

B-Loved (working title), from Endeavor Content and Wonder Worldwide, stars List as Bea, a free-spirited teenage ghost who forms a special friendship with the new boy in town, Cole, whose house she has been inhabiting for over 100 years. With the help of a magical ring that allows Cole to see Bea, they’ll rediscover the meaning of being alive, but also the importance of letting go. Written by Black List Nicholl Fellowship winner, Cesar Vitale, the special will be directed by Emily Ting (Tall Girl 2). It’s scheduled to premiere in time for Valentine’s Day 2023 on HBO Max.
