Cater Wilkerson, affectionately known as “Nugget Boy”, became the holder of the most retweeted Tweet of all time on Tuesday with his plea for free Wendy’s chicken nuggets—and now everyone wants a piece of him, including United Airlines.
The airline company—who has had a string of negative incidents lately after a passenger was brutally dragged off an overbooked flight—first tweeted at Wilkerson when he set out to get 18 million retweets in exchange for a year of free chicken nuggets.

Susan Sarandon stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday to talk about her recent trip to the desert for Burning Man. The annual festival takes place at Black Rock City in Nevada, and this year's event brought out Cara Delevingne, Katy Perry, and yes, the 68-year-old Oscar winner, who helped build a temple in which to leave the ashes of psychologist and LSD advocate Timothy Leary. Susan's account of the trip definitely makes it sound like a lavish, five-star getaway; her tales of peace, love, and public nudity almost make us want to start packing for next year. Watch her explain to Jimmy how she erected a chapel, survived a dust storm, drank Timothy Leary's ashes, and taught the younger generation a thing or two about psychedelic drugs in the video above.

Although I was barely ten years-old, I remember feeling terrified while watching horror master Wes Craven’s 1978 made-for-tv thriller Summer of Fear (under its alternate title Stranger in Our House) as well as thoroughly enjoying his adaptation of the comic book Swamp Thing four years later, but it wasn’t until November of 1984, while viewing the trailer for some new horror flick called A Nightmare on Elm Street, that I recall hearing and remembering the name Wes Craven. After being thrilled by this masterpiece which, in my opinion, is Craven’s greatest work, I certainly wanted to learn more about this extremely talented filmmaker. After doing a bit of research, I quickly discovered that I had already seen Craven’s original and very interesting Deadly Blessing (1981) and, also, his other masterpiece (in my opinion): 1977’s The Hills Have Eyes. Whenever someone mentions Wes Craven, I immediately think of Nightmare and Hills,...

I interviewed model/actress Lauren Hutton in late 2007 at her home in Venice, CA. Hutton greeted me wearing a gingham workshirt, battered jeans and no make-up, hair pulled back. She was and is one of the most beautiful humans I've ever had the pleasure of laying eyes on. A sharp mind and tough core resided within, which I quickly found out as our conversation flowed and the hours passed. As she bid me good-night, she handed me a manila envelope. I opened it when I arrived home. Inside, the recent issue of Big Magazine that was done as a tribute to her remarkable career. That magazine, and her inscription, remains one of my most treasured mementos.

Barkers rev up your engines. The Freak Show is over, and the incessant quote canonizing can begin. As another season of American Horror Story closed on Wednesday, the freak fetishist became the freak. (If that meant we got to see Finn Wittrock in his skivvies, then so be it.) But Dandy Mott's downfall was just the beginning of the curiosities delivered by Elsa Mars and her band of outsiders. Picking up short after Dandy (Wittrock) began his tyrannical rule of the side show, the anthology show's season finale was a veritable a parade of zingers and bon mots worthy of creator Ryan Murphy,...

The Leftovers returned Sunday after its premiere last week, revealing that Police Chief Kevin Garvey (Justin Theroux) is even more unstable and unreliable than he first appeared.
The Leftovers Recap
In the cold open, Tom Garvey (Chris Zylka), Kevin’s son, is away from the family at the compound of self-proclaimed messiah Wayne. The Feds are onto Wayne (Paterson Joseph) and his cult. They’ve learned that he claims to be able to hug the pain out of people, gaining his strength to do so by keeping company with teenage Asian girls and using college-aged men to run his errands. Since Wayne, whose compound is in Nevada, seems to be luring senators to pay him for hugs, the FBI determines he’s a threat to national security and sends a team to the compound.

Last year we ran a schedule of every TV/Cable network schedule we could find that could be construed as Horror or Halloween related for the month of October. Let’s just say it proved useful for our readers and even for our staff when they were looking to find something to watch, wanted to program their DVR’s or didn’t want to miss out on some great “live” Horror. Isn’t there something about having a movie fed to you on TV as opposed to watching it on Blu-ray or DVD or streaming? We may not like commercials, but the randomness that you can associate with a TV program itinerary is novel. It removes a little bit of control from the audience who is all to concerned with being in control these days (just look at the reasons behind publishing a piece like this).

When they say, "They don't make 'em like that anymore," this is what they're talking about. "How the West Was Won," released in America 50 years ago this week (on February 20, 1963) was probably the most ambitious western ever made, an epic saga spanning four generations, 50 years, two-and-a-half hours, five vignettes, three directors (well, actually four), the widest possible screen, and an enormous cast of A-listers, including James Stewart, Debbie Reynolds, Gregory Peck, George Peppard, Henry Fonda, John Wayne, Karl Malden, Carroll Baker, and Spencer Tracy. It's hard to imagine any movie, let alone a western, being made on such a grand scale today, when it would cost hundreds of millions of dollars. Naturally, in a production that massive, there was a lot of chaos behind the scenes. Even fans of the movie may not be aware of the off-camera feud between Peck and his director, the technical challenges imposed by the untried widescreen format,...

A political sex satire from the director of Silver Linings Playbook and a cop film from Tony Kaye are among the casualties of the company's financial woes
If you went to the movies over the weekend, it is possible you saw Silver Linings Playbook, David O Russell's screwball romcom, tipped to repeat the Oscar success of his previous film, The Fighter. If you enjoyed Silver Linings – and it's likely you did – it's possible your interest has been piqued in the director's back catalogue. Perhaps you're eager to root out his other movies – caustic soap Flirting with Disaster, polarising comedy I Heart Huckabees, George Clooney war flick Three Kings, political sex satire Nailed.
What's that? Not heard of Nailed? Odd, given it boasts a top-drawer cast and a killer plot about a waitress without health insurance (Jessica Biel) who has a nail accidentally lodged in her brain, travels to Washington to...

The liquor business is spreading fast on "Boardwalk Empire" and Nucky is getting richer. But his business is threatened by a leaked information sent by a frustrated Margaret to Van Alden, leading to barrels of beer inside his garage being smashed.
On the day of the annual St. Patrick's Eve dinner, Nucky deals with his jealous brother's oratory ambitions, as well as a group of disenchanted "Leprechauns." In New York, Arnold Rothstein worries about his involvement in the fixed World Series, while in Chicago, Jimmy copes with the aftermath of a vicious attack orchestrated by Torrio rival Charlie Sheridan.
"Nights in Ballygran" airs October 17 on HBO.

Last summer, shortly after the beginning as a film critic with Pajiba, I published a ranking of the five film noirs of the classical age over the course of a week. Ever since, I've been contemplating doing a top five retrospective on neo-noir. Picking up the pieces of the project a few weeks ago, I tentatively listed a bunch of titles. However, unlike the classical ranking, I ran into some trouble thanks to a range of factors.
In a nutshell, there are two key reasons that make producing a ranking of neo-noir for Pajiba a difficult task. First and most significantly, neo-noir films have been produced for roughly fifty years now (the classical period ran only seventeen years), giving neo-noir a significant temporal advantage. To put this in a quantifiable context, IMDb lists 434 titles classified as film noir and over 1,500 as neo-noir. That's a huge amount of films to go...

Today's collection is a complete, eight-page look at all of the preliminary 2011 Oscar Contenders I've featured over the week in one complete post. There are a few I'll be adding, such as yesterday's Welcome to the RIleys suggestion and hopefully a few more documentaries, before the doors to the new "The Contenders" section opens up in April, but until then this is your one-stop-shop.
As we move along add any thoughts or films you think should be added in the comments below or send me an email directly if you have thoughts on additional contenders or news on any of those on this list. Your suggestions are welcomed and encouraged.
127 Hours Release Date: Release date not yet set Distributor: Fox Searchlight Pictures Directed By: Danny Boyle Cast: James Franco, Amber Tamblyn, Kate Mara Quick Thoughts: Directed by Danny Boyle whose last film, Slumdog Millionaire, racked up eight Oscars including Best Picture,...

Part three arrives and it comes with 20 more films to keep an eye on this year as potential Oscar candidates. If you missed parts one and two, the links for both of those can be found on the bottom of page two of this post.
With today's list of films it brings the total previewed thus far to 60 early Oscar contending films and already one reader has sent in a potential new candidate I am looking into further to see if the list again will grow from it's current total of 73 films to 74 and what may amount to a fifth film for Helen Mirren. With no films this year for Meryl Streep, it looks like Mirren is stacking the deck.
I will again remind you, this is merely a guide to potential nominees, not a guarantee, not a lock, but simply films that could potentially go on to be remembered at the year-end Oscar race.
