PG-13 | | Comedy, Drama, Romance
A young advertising executive's life becomes increasingly complicated when, in order to impress her boss, she pretends to be engaged to a man she has just met.
Matthew Broderick, Jon Stewart, John Corbett, and William Baldwin all screentested for the role of Nick. Jennifer Aniston pushed for her then-boyfriend Tate Donovan to assume the role, and was unhappy when Jay Mohr was ultimately cast.
You know what, Sam? You're just always going to be that guy at the restaurant who, when he gets what he ordered, always wishes he got what the guy next to him did.
While Nick and Kate are arguing in the restaurant, as the camera angles change, the levels of brandy in everyone's glasses alternately rise and fall, even though it is clear that everyone is wrapped up in the drama and not drinking.
