Dating in the 21st century is unlike anything we've seen.
And that's why any show willing to tackle the clusterf*ck that is modern dating often has a gold mine on its hands.
At the very least, there's endless content, pure entertainment, and some laughs, too. And BET+'s latest series, Caught Up, teases a little of all the above.
If you're fresh off that jaw-dropping season of Average Joe, you may enjoy the vibes of Caught Up.
It promises to be a short binge that will make you laugh while contemplating your own love life; there is no judgment here. Trust and believe.

If you plan to attend Usher's "My Way" Las Vegas residency, you'll want to arrive early because you don't want to miss the preshow dance party courtesy of his unmatched fans. As I walked into the Park MGM arena for the show I was attending in late June, my ears were greeted with classic R&b and hip-hop songs like Tevin Campbell's "Can We Talk" and Miguel's "Adorn You" as a DJ encouraged us to stand, dance, and sing along with the rest of the audience. Usher's dancers even came out and interacted with the audience, inviting some lucky attendees to dance with them on stage. The vibes felt more like a house party with all of my best friends than a concert surrounded by strangers. So much so that I didn't even realize the show was starting.

Shamir starts subverting expectations from the very first crackles of “Gay Agenda,” the opener from his new album Heterosexuality. Despite the declarative, banner-like brightness the title suggests, “Gay Agenda” smolders with mounting intensity as Shamir battles layers of industrial fuzz and reverb. The production is a threat, constantly on the verge of overpowering him. Yet the Philly-based multi-hyphenate wins out, his hyper-specific falsetto breaking to the forefront: “You’re just stuck in the box that was made for me,” he sings. “And you’re mad I got out and I’m living free.

Mari Törőcsik, one of Hungary’s leading actors, died on Friday, at the age of 85, in Budapest after a long illness. She won best actress at the Cannes Film Festival, and appeared in two Oscar nominated films.
Törőcsik’s first international appearance was in 1956 at Cannes, where she starred in Zoltán Fábri’s Palme d’Or competitor “Körhinta” (Merry-Go-Round), playing a country girl in love with a peasant boy, battling against the opposition of her father to the relationship.
During the festival, Francois Truffaut, who was then a journalist with the weekly Arts, said he would have given her the best actress award, and Jean Cocteau also praised her performance. Truffaut wrote: “Without the 20-year-old artist knowing it, she was the biggest star of the festival.”
Since then she has played more than 100 roles. She worked with directors Fábri, Miklós Jancsó, Márta Mészáros and Károly Makk on multiple occasions.

Of the five celebrities on “The Masked Singer” to make it to Wednesday’s semi-final, the most surprised was the one hiding behind the Thingamajig mask. He shouldn’t have been so shocked given the rousing reception he got for his performance of “Ordinary People” by John Legend. We think we’ve figured out who is inside the cumbersome costume. And while he is used to hearing a crowd roar it isn’t when he is singing.
But the man inside the Thingamajig costume should get used to just that after nailing his first five appearances on this reality competition series. He has only been at risk of elimination once. That was in week 8 when he crooned “Haven’t Met You Yet” by Michael Bublé. He redeemed himself with the four judges with the Usher hit “Caught Up.”

“The Masked Singer” reached the quarter-final stage of the competition on December 10 with six celebrities still in the hunt to win season 2. Competing for a place in the semifinal are the Butterfly, Fox, Leopard, Rottweiler, Thingamajig and Tree. Each is hoping to earn enough voters from the studio audience that they don’t end up in a showdown in front of the four judges.
One of these contestants is head and shoulders above the others, literally. That is the Thingamajig. He has scored with each of his first four performances. He was the stand-out on week 1 with his cover of The Commodores hit “Easy.” He returned in week 4 and impressed us with his version of the Kacey Musgraves hit “Rainbow.” He changed it up yet again in week 5 with a lively rendition of The Temptations “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg.”

The Tales From the Hood anthology horror film franchise isn’t dead yet! There’s a third film being developed by the original creative team that includes executive producer Spike Lee and writers/directors/producers Rusty Cundieff and Darin Scott.
The films are basically like Tales From the Crypt, but with an urban spin and it tell a series of creepy “socially aware” horror stories. With the popularity of films like Jordan Peele’s Get Out and Us, it seems like Tales From the Hood is primed for a revival.
I enjoyed the first two films, and it’ll be fun to see what news stories will be included in the third movie. According to Production Weekly, the film will start shooting in late September in Winnipeg.
The movie will also be released in 2020 and mark the 25th anniversary of the original film. Below you’ll find the trailers for the first two films.

When the article "An Unbelievable Story of Rape" was published in 2015, it didn't get much attention in Hollywood.
But times have changed, and the now-newsy story (by ProPublica's T. Christian Miller and Ken Armstrong of The Marshall Project) will soon be available on Netflix as an eight-part series. The story centers on a woman who reported being raped at knifepoint only to end up being prosecuted for lying. Two female detectives then look into the case and come to a surprising conclusion.

I'm sure you all remember Samuel L. Jackson's 1999 shark film Deep Blue Sea. Some say it featured one of the most surprising and unexpected deaths in movie history. Right as Samuel L. Jackson is about to give a big inspiring speech, from out of nowhere, a Shark jumps out of the water and eats him. I thought it was a fun flick, and now there's a sequel that, of course, looks even more ridiculous than the first movie.
20 years after the first film, we are getting Deep Blue Sea 2, which follows shark conservationist Dr. Misty Calhoun (Danielle Savre), who is "invited to consult on a new, top secret project run by pharmaceutical billionaire Carl Durant (Michael Beach). When science meddles with the time-tested process of nature and nurture, the outcome can be deadly."

Will Ferrell once had to spend a day calling members of his family - to assure them he was still alive.
The Anchorman star was incorrectly named as the victim of a hang gliding accident.
He says, "It was this crazy rumour that I had died and it was not fun to go through. It was rough.
"My publicist told me about it and I had to call my family and make sure they didn't hear it first - and believe it."
But Ferrell is getting used to hearing and reading strange rumours about himself.
He tells WENN, "I heard that I was a germaphobe, and I carry my own pen to sign autographs. Crazy."...

A Dunkin Donuts commercial featuring beloved U.S. TV chef Rachael Ray has been ditched after critics accused her of dressing like a terrorist in the ad.
Ray, who was announced as the company's new spokeswoman last year, appears in the commercial wearing a black-and-white scarf, alleged to be symbolic of a keffiyeh - a traditional headdress worn by Arab men.
Fox news columnist Michelle Malkin explains the garment "...has come to symbolise murderous Palestinian jihad. Popularised by Yasser Arafat and a regular adornment of Muslim terrorists appearing in beheading and hostage-taking videos.
"The apparel has been mainstreamed by both ignorant and not-soignorant fashion designers, celebrities, and left-wing icons."
Dunkin' Donuts bosses first dismissed complaints, claiming Ray's black-and-white wrap was merely misinterpreted, but an ensuing firestorm forced them to quickly pull the ad from rotation.
A statement from company executives reads, "In a recent online ad, Rachael Ray is wearing a black-and-white silk scarf with a paisley design. It was selected by her stylist for the advertising shoot.
"Absolutely no symbolism was intended. However, given the possibility of misperception, we are no longer using the commercial."...

Comedian Katt Williams found himself at the centre of a police raid on Tuesday, when cops stormed his Los Angeles mansion and arrested his distant cousin in connection to a drug-related shooting.
Members of the U.S. Marshals Service, who had been looking for Robert McGhee, targetted Williams' home after spotting his relative's car parked outside the property.
McGhee was wanted by Ohio police after allegedly shooting a man in the chest on 24 April in Dayton, following a failed drug deal.
McGhee is said to have fled the state with his girlfriend last week (ends16May08), resulting in a nationwide search for the 31-year-old.
But he was soon tracked down to Williams' house in the L.A. suburb - and authorities have credited the joint work of various state officials for his arrest.
U.S. Marshal James Wahlrab says, "This arrest highlights why it is critical for federal, state, and local law enforcement to team together to investigate and locate such dangerous fugitives.
.Criminals do not recognise jurisdictional boundaries that often limit our partnering agencies. Through tremendous collaboration and the efforts of our task force officers, we were able to utilise all of the necessary resources across the nation to apprehend this suspect..
McGhee has been charged with felonious assault (causing serious harm), felonious assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
Williams has not been charged with any crime, although police are still trying to determine whether the funnyman was aware of McGhee's fugitive status and if he was home at the time of the arrest, reports AllHipHop.com.

Lindsay Lohan has been caught up in the riddle of a $11,000 (GBP5,500) fur coat which went missing from a birthday party in a New York bar.
Masha Markova claims her blond mink jacket vanished when she tried to retrieve it from a bundle of coats at trendy nightspot 1 Oak, where she was celebrating the birthday of a friend on 26 January.
Two weeks later she spotted Lohan - who was also present at the party - wearing an identical garment in the pages of a celebrity magazine, photographs taken the same night the coat went missing.
Markova insisted, "It was my coat. It was no doubt," and instructed her lawyer to threaten to legal action the actress. Soon after, she was contacted by bosses at 1 Oak, who then returned the item, without explanation, smelling of alcohol and cigarette smoke and with a tear in the lining.
Although she cannot prove Lohan is responsible for 'borrowing' the coat, Markova is demanding a $10,000 (GBP5,000) fee for the rental. She says, "I don't see how it could have been an accident."
Lohan's spokesperson has yet to respond to the New York Post report.

Teen sensation Miley Cyrus has found herself at the centre of a health scandal.
A new report suggests select Hannah Montana-branded merchandise poses a potential risk of lead poisoning to young fans.
The findings by researchers at the non-governmental agency the Center for Environmental Health (Ceh) caused a stir in the U.S. earlier this week (begs17Mar08) when they were first published.
Researchers purchased a variety of Hannah Montana-related items - including the Girls Rock and Undercover Pop Star backpacks, the Secret Star wallet and the slumber tote - in February and tested the made-in-China products for lead, using "an X-ray fluorescence analyser".
And they claim several items contained above the "federal standard for lead in paint (600 parts per million)", while others proved to contain "lead concentrations above the American Academy of Pediatrics' recommended level (40 parts per million)" - all of which were found in the "vinyl parts" of the products.
Ceh officials are now looking into whether the products are in violation of California's Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 before deciding whether or not to take action.
A spokesperson from Disney, the company behind the Hannah Montana franchise, has refused to comment directly on the case, but says, "We require all licensed producers of products using Disney characters to test their products and to comply with all applicable product safety laws and standards."
A representative for Cyrus has yet to comment on the report.
The American Academy of Pediatrics has labelled lead a "serious threat to children's health" and reiterates that there is "no 'safe' level of lead exposure" of the mineral, which can lead to neurological damage and kidney and heart disease.
