A group of astronauts gain superpowers after a cosmic radiation exposure and must use them to oppose the plans of their enemy, Doctor Victor Von Doom.
A decade after the film was released, the film was rebooted because Jessica Alba decided not to do another "Fantastic Four" film and Chris Evans had moved on to play another Marvel comic book hero Captain America. Fantastic Four (2015), which starred Miles Teller as Reed Richards, Kate Mara as Susan Storm, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm, was a darker retelling of the "Fantastic Four" story and failed at the box office.
Typical of Victor Von Doom to build a 30 foot statue of himself.
In the bridge scene, Johnny and Reed encourage Sue to turn invisible so she can sneak past some police officers, forcing her to disrobe. After she sneaks past, Johnny and Reed run up to her carrying her clothes, they manage to pass by the police officers themselves since the officers are too stunned by seeing Sue turn invisible to notice.
The Marvel Comics logo features comic-book images of the Fantastic Four in its pages; it's also shaded blue, the uniform color of the Four.
The extended cut released in the US is basically the previously released modified version with the addition of the deleted scenes that were presented as bonus material on some European DVD editions (first US DVD release included just a few of these scenes).
