  • Warning: Spoilers
This was one of my favorite Nickelodeon show during the nineties, having all the bizarre charm the cartoons from that channel used to have back then.

Of the segments, my favorite ones were Sniz & Fondue and The Off-Beats, which actually had enough potential to be a full series.

The other segments were fun too, with rather creative visuals; I do remember there was a episode featuring the short The Girl with Her Head Coming Off by Emily Hubley.

A shame the way in which Nickelodeon treated this series, with several chapters being almost impossible to find nowadays.

Weird how its main spin-off was the infamous "Angela Anaconda" (It seems Action League NOW! Also got its own series, but it consisted only in the segments featured here)

I honestly miss animated anthology shows like this one.
  • I used to watch this show when I was growing up. When I think about it, I only remember it vaguely. However, if you ask me, it was an okay show. Two things I remember pretty well are the opening sequence and theme song. In addition to that, everyone was ideally cast. Also, the writing was okay. The performances were okay, too. I hope some network brings it back so I can see every episode. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that I'll always remember this show in my memory forever, even though I don't think I've seen every episode. Now, in conclusion, if some network ever brings it back, I hope that you catch it one day before it goes off the air for good.
  • Oh man, this is one of the best programs Nick has put out in its history. Kablam was a combination of your average comic book and animated sketch comedy. If D.C. comics, Saturday Night Live, and Sonny and Cher had a child the result would be KABLAM!

The Basic Premise of the show is that these two (supposed)pal's named Henry and June live in a comic book and pal around, doing comic book stuff. They both introduce little skits that are in the book. they had all sorts of stuff in there like the Off Beats and life with loopy. They would usually get in some sort of a spat and drop heavy stuff on each others head. Even though they we're cartoon's, you could tell there was a chemistry between Henry and June.

So in conclusion, its a shame they canceled Kablam, it seemed as if it was hitting its stride. But say la vi I suppose.
  • The idea for this show is really genius. It's about a comic book with hosts Henry and June who flip the page to the different comic sections. The regular segments on this strange anthology show were Action League Now!, a superhero show with action figures as the main characters. Life with Loopy, a stop motion cardboard segment about the adventures of a little girl, narrated by her older brother. Sniz and Fondue, a traditionally animated segment about two cats (?) that get in to mischief. Promethius and Bob was a claymated segment about an alien trying to teach a caveman. The Off-Beats was an occasional segment that resembled the Peanuts. This show was just really great. The Henry and June segments had this horrible animation that worked so perfectly, and my personal favorite other segment was the very imaginative Life with Loopy. Try to find this classic Nick show.

In 1996, Doug started a new and unfortunate life on the Disney channel in which they ruined the Series Doug. Late in 1996 The rugrats started having new episodes after 2 and a half years since it ended. Ren And Stimpy Ended(A show that i never really liked) And So did the great Rocko's Modern Life. So another new Nicktoon started airing....Kablam. Kablam started airing 2 months before The end of Ren And Stimpy and the end of Rocko. It aired from 1996-2000. The show was Nicks first Anthology show. It was told from a comic book that had your hosts Henry and June. Some shorts where Action League now!(Probably my favorite), Snize and Fondo, Life with Loopy, and the cave man show about an alien trying to teach a caveman over 4 million years ago(i think) called Promenthis and bob. I also remember the offbeats. Now to tell you the truth i don;t remember much about the episodes other than the basics BUT i remember when it did air on Nick. In 1997 the year i started watching it heavily it aired on Friday nights right after The Rugrats. I remember getting all crazy about seeing the weeks episode of Kablam. The rugrats used to air on weekdays from 7:30-8:30. This show aired at 8:30 or 7. Note i am positive it was 8:30 it aired when i was in kindergarten. It would also air again on Saturday mornings on Nick. Now in 2000 the show was dropped by nick for the stupid Oh Yeah! cartoons which had been airing for a while now. Nick i don't think ever ran re-runs of this show on Nickeloden. In 2002 i caught it along with with Rocko's Modern Life, Doug, Aahh! Real Monsters and older episodes of the Rugrats on Nicktoons TV Channel. It was so fun watching these shows again. It was unfortunate that that channel started making its own cartoons now like the rest of the classic nick shows except the Rugrats it isn't on Nicktoons TV Anymore. Good news thou last year Amazon.com started releasing old nicktoons as a Nickelodeon flashback series. Doug and Hey Arnold Seasons 1 and 2 where released last year 2008 in August. In September a very unfortunate Best Of DVD was released for Rocko's Modern life meaning people would still have to get Rocko illegally to see the full show. This year it was announced that The Rugrats Season 1 and 2 would be released on Amazon.com and has already been available for pre-ordering. I have read on the Internet that Kablam has a scheduled for a DVD release from what i've read on the Internet. Now it is to soon to tell whether its going to be Seasons 1 and 2 or just another "Best Of" set which means the same thing your going to find it some other way to see the show again. I think this is one of the only Nicktoons from the 90s that was never released on VHS so this would be a neat edition's. Well either way once again this show proves in my opinion that old nick is better than new nick.
  • "KaBlam!" is one of those shows from one's childhood that makes them realize just how awfully generic and unoriginal today's cartoons are. I was a child of the '90s, and I was fortunate enough to see the boom period of originality happen before my eyes. In my opinion, Nickelodeon hit the jackpot with this cartoon, which was sadly only on for 4 years.

Hosted by crudely-animated cartoon hosts Henry and June, two children, "KaBlam!" was a melting pot of animated freedom. Any and all styles were welcome, and they were showcased to their fullest potential. With its first (and best, in my opinion) four segments—"Sniz & Fondue", "Action League Now!", "Life with Loopy" and "Prometheus & Bob"—each containing two-dimensional and hilarious characters, the show was a goldmine in advancing animation's boundaries.

I miss this show a lot. I grew up watching it and looking most forward to the "Action League Now!" more than anything else. It's not on TV, and it's also not on DVD, and that's a crime against humanity. When people think of Nicktoons, they think of great shows like "Rocko's Modern Life" and "Doug" before anything else, but "KaBlam!" is a diamond in the rough. It's timeless and hilarious. Even though most of the later cartoons and shorts that replaced the older ones could be boring, Henry and June more than made up for it. Each character evolved as the seasons continued, and that rarely happens in cartoons.

In conclusion, I think "KaBlam!" is one of the most original, funniest and most likable shows ever produced. Not just in the cartoon world, but in general. It makes me wish I had a time machine so I could see these old, great shows again. Nickelodeon needs to get their sh*t together and release this on DVD.
  • Kablam! was one of Nick's best shows on television for three reasons: it was unique; it was smart; and most importantly, it was funny! The show is much like an anthology with different, off-beat cartoon shorts. The show was hosted by two kids named Henry and June, with a little bit of help from Mr. Bigfoot. The shows that regularly appeared on Kablam were Prometheus and Bob, Life with Loopy, Action League Now!, Sniz & Fondue, and The Off-Beats.

Prometheus and Bob is about an alien named, Prometheus recording his studies of educating an caveman named, Bob. The results are painful yet, hilarious! Sniz & Fondue is about two cats (or moles, I forgot what they are) living their weird adventures his their household. They're very Funny to watch! Action League Now! was, by far, Kablam!'s fan favorite hit. Filmed using a unique type of animation called, "Chuckamation", the show featured generic action figures as superheroes trying their best to resolve the troubles caused by 'The Mayor'. This show is truly one of Nick's unsung classics!

Be sure to check this show out before it's lost to Nickelodeon's vaults forever!
  • Kablam! was one of the funniest animated shows I've ever seen. Very creative and diverse. A lot of people involved. Great writing and concepts. From "Prometheus and Bob", about an alien trying to show a caveman how to live, to "Sniz and Fondue", great voices and great animation style. Wait! There's "Life with Loopy", a sort of paper cut-out animation, "Action League, NOW", animated dolls often done in by the Evil Mayor which sounded a bit like Ronald Reagan.

I guess some people didn't get it. But my kids and I REALLY miss it! Ernie Kovacs would be proud.

I wonder why a collection of these shows has not been put up for sale (at least I am unaware of any). I think Nickelodeon still airs it at various times, but I never get to see it. Nickelodeon, if you're listening, market the whole series in a DVD. I guarantee brisk sales.

NOW do I have enough lines for a submission?
  • Any hardcore Nick fan as myself, back in the 90s when the programming was good, would know that Kablam! was the best show on the entire station, topping even the SNL-for-teenagers spin of All That! Kablam featured two animated characters, Henry and June, who hosted a comic book-esquire sketch show featuring regular acts (Life with Loopy, Sniz and Fondue...) with special scripts.

The show was humorous to the extent that even as a teenager I long to see the show again. But, like all good comedic shows, Kablam! went down just as SNL and All That did, grabbing for new plots until they cancelled. It was a significant loss to Nickelodeon, which now airs shows that aren't in the least bit nostalgic. But we will always have our memories, I suppose. As cliché as it sounds.
  • When I first watched Kablam!, I actually thought it was stupid, and for small children only. A few days later, I saw it again, and I laughed a lot... It is very funny, and Action League, Now is the best. Life with Loopy is totally nonsense, and you'll laugh a lot too. Watch it!!! It may not be quality TV, but it's Funny TV, for sure!
  • this show is one of the best and i think now that it has been cancelled we should have this show out on DVD fast and soon. a lot of people might not have the nicktoons channel and i use to though. but anyways now that we see a lot of other shows coming out on DVD we should have season sets for this show also. i would like to say that there is a website out there to vote and please vote for season sets. i know best of and individual are putting some eps and i know this whole world likes every single episode on their favorite shows. but also if you like the shows you do like but not every single episode i know you might like having the best of or individual. but as for me the shows i like i would like and my mind is set on season sets is because i cannot choose what eps i like. even though it is hard but i like every single ep out there on some of the best shows i like. by the way you can also vote for any show you would like. i know i am waiting for full house, boy meets world, 2nd season of spongebob and some other ones out there but yeah vote for any show you like to on there. if you do like thats so raven don't forget to add the comma for example that's so raven instead of thats so raven. i tried to vote when i typed in thats instead of that's. so please vote for kablam season. thanks i know kablam is my 1st show i really enjoy watching. after all all the other ones i voted for will be be 2nd,3rd, etc... number ones.
  • This is as fun as Liquid TV, better than cartoon sushi, and has a lot of the same animators. Favorites would be Life with Loopy, Sniz and Fondue, and Prometheus and Bob. Check it out on Nickelodeon!!!
