  • A wealthy over-age man is in love with a pretty but desperately poor girl. He thinks that love between an old man and a young girl is something unthinkable. Thus, he sells his soul to the Devil and he becomes young one more time but this time a complete broke. His goal is to win the love of the pretty girl. After a while he achieves it. At the same time, a friend of his, having opposite ideas about youth and marriage and despite being over-age, is trying to win the girl's heart with his money. The girl's mother sees the old man's intentions as a ticket for an easier life. Love vs money. Dimitris Horn gives us one more spectacular performance with his very own free style to play. Beautiful songs by Manos Hadjidakis. A fine play by the writers, Christos Giannakopoulos and Alekos Sakellarios.

One of the greatest film-makers in film history(undoubtedly the greatest Greek director ever lived) in his most mature, funny, satirical film."Alimono stous neous"("God help the youth of today") is a timeless masterpiece.Sakellarios managed to fit a modern version of Faust in one of the most difficult periods of the Greek nation.A country that hasn't yet overcome from the wounds of dictatorship,World War 2,and civil war is trying to find its position in the modern world.Poverty, unemployment, the position of women, the political instability, are beautifully depicted by the social differences between the struggling youth for a better future of the Greek nation, and the old aristocracy:miserable and pathetic old men who mock at the poor, the students, the working class. This film combines the most talented Greek actor(Dimitris Horn in a marvelous performance as always)under the instructions of a true magician, with the beautiful and nostalgic songs of Manos Hatjidakis.Simply, one of the best films you have seen,or you will ever see in your life.

Helped from a great script from the masters of the period Sakelarios-Gianakopoulos.The film shows us the power of money vs youth and how difficult is to choose between poverty and love.Excellent cast and brilliant performances from Horn and Mousouris the ''oldmen leaders''.
