  • I saw this movie about 18 years ago ( on TV) and I still have bad memories about it. It was supposed to be "The Movie" about Danish youth, the so-called "swingkids" of the 40'S. A drama - comedy with a little bit of jazz, a lot of phony sex...and that's how we make a movie and make the idiots go see it! The story about a young boy trying to get into the jazz scene is total crap and the portrayal of the time (Denmark after the occupation in the late forties) and Denmark's "big jazz (joke) star at the time, Leo Mathisen is a joke. But even worse is Eddie Skoller's acting. This movie is typical of a period where Danish cinema didn't yet know which leg to stand on and idiots could get public funding to make almost any kind of crap they wanted. Luckily things have improved a lot ever since.
