  • Pornographer Bob Chinn had a big year in 1978, cranking out several classic films (which still hold up quite well over 30 years after) including CANDY STRIPERS, CHINA CAT and BLONDE FIRE, but LIPPS & McCAIN is below par.

It starts out like a rollicking Western, with Ric Lutze and Paul Thomas well-cast in vintage buddy-film form. But the sight of cars and a helicopter indicate we are in the modern West, backdrop for typical horsing around XXX antics. Amber Hunt, who was memorably fisted in Chinn's CANDY STRIPERS, gets the plum Katharine Ross role to their Butch & Sundance.

Film lives up to its sexual content promise with the likes of Tracy O'Neil, Kristine Heller and Laurien Black in supporting roles. It's simply a case of a ho-hum script by John Thomas Chapman (whose other work for Chinn was far better), and the mistake of not making a real period Western -generally a surefire template for interesting porn.
