  • Warning: Spoilers
There's little about this trip that suggests its to help their marriage.this couple is on different career paths and each apparently feels that their needs are greater than their spouse. The husband is burnt out on his current job and seeks some degree of less tension and more enjoyable work situation despite it being a serious reduction of income the wife has hopes of becoming a partner in the law firm she works in. With her theres little doubt that work comes before marriage. So how exactly is this trip suppose to help their marriage, especially since the job he wants is in her old home town, no where near the excitement of new york city. The movie deals with their conflict as to how to resolve these critical job issues. Will one party , namely the wife, quit her job at her high level law firm and relocate to her home town where hubby plans to start his new job or will hubby realize the financial consequences of his move and allow his wife to achieve her dream job of making partner. After considerable bickering and even suggestions of spouses paying too much attention to members of the opposite sex...SPOILER ALERT. We are suppose to believe each party eventually agrees with each others goals and pledge to work it out by getting together on weekends. Yeah, like that's not going to lead to serious marital issues. Hard to imagine the lawyer wife after making partner and being subject to numerous temptations of every imaginable type that her position would subject her to. I didnt get the impression that there's enough in this marriage to make this arrangement work. So no happy ending for me
