PG-13 | | Comedy, Romance
Multicharacter teenage comedy about high school graduates with different agenda of life on graduation night.
Filming the final scenes of the party meant a chaotic destruction of the house. Directors Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont gave the go-ahead to completely trash the place. This involved the cast and crew pulling out drawers, dropping food all over the floor, messing up the carpets, and someone spray painting "This Party Sucked" on the front door. This all happened in one hour.
Preston? I dunno, his hair's kinda, I dunno, brown?
Matt, Watermelon Guy: No, it's not really brown. Oh, he's tall.
Stoner Guy: Yeah, he's kinda kinda tall. Sorta tall. And he's like always wearing like t-shirts.
Amanda Becket: So, he's sort of tall?
Stoner Guy: Kind of.
Amanda Becket: With... hair?
Stoner Guy: Yeah.
Amanda Becket: And he wears ...
Stoner Guy: ...
At the beginning of the movie, several characters (including Preston) are introduced with yearbook entries. Toward the end of the movie, we see Preston's entry in the actual yearbook. The two almost match, but not quite; the actual yearbook includes French Club, but this is omitted from the introductory bit.
After all the credits are done rolling Mike Dexter yells out "I'll kick everyone's ass in this room" which he said earlier on in the film.
In order to receive a PG-13 rating a number of scenes where deleted altogether from the final print. The missing scenes are:
$8,025,910 (USA) (14 June 1998)
$25,339,117 (USA) (30 August 1998)
