The story of Beryl Formby removing Betty Driver's song from the film is untrue. Only the re-release edited Driver out. This was because the film was issued in a cut-down version to cash in on Formby's success in the bigger-budget ATP pictures.

The movie was shot in a studio situated above a taxi garage and a bell system had to be rung when they wanted to do a take so that the cabs wouldn't be heard on screen.

The part of the scullery maid is played by George Formby's wife, Beryl Formby.

Film debut of George Formby.
