A rich girl causes problems in a traditional, folk neighborhood of Athens when she opens a shop that plays modern music.
At the ancient Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the young pedlar of shoddy souvenirs, Kostas Pitouras, stumbles upon the wealthy Greek expatriate in the United States, Jim, who is planning to open a cosy boîte in Plaka. Of course, this is an unexpectedly marvellous golden opportunity for profit that can't be missed--and before long--Kostas enlists the help of the talented bouzouki player, Fotis Tsipouras, aspiring to become the area's most-visited tourist attraction. But, in the meantime, in another small nightclub just across the street, Mary, the fresh and modern lead singer of the all-girl yé-yé band "Crazy Girls" has exactly the same ambitions. Inevitably, on the once peaceful neighbourhood, two worlds are bound to collide; nevertheless, isn't love always above all?
