This compact crime movie is representative of those days when Wicked and Vivid delivered 75-minute movies with a story, interesting characters and hot sex scenes before success went to the pornographers' heads.
Greg Steelberg is the auteur, with his frequent collaborator Brad Armstrong only credited (as Rod Hopkins) as art director.
Vince Voyeur plays an undercover cop returning to his home turf after a gap of 10 years. He's playing the classic film noir hero, self-divided between his job and his loyalty to old friends.
Perhaps the best actor of this period, James Bonn, plays his old pal, whose sister Sindee Coxx was in love with Vince's character. Dic Tracy makes for a powerful crime boss, and stunt casting has Jenna Jameson (!) as Tracy's right hand, a cooly sinister hit lady. Of course, her sex appeal is apparent, in a hot Sapphic scene with Sindee.
Stylish use of moody lighting and a slow-motion violent (suggested rather than explicit) climax is impressive.
