Paramount Pictures has shared a jaw-dropping new look at Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, offering a quick sneak peek at Tom Cruise's most dangerous stunt yet, as he hangs off the wing of a biplane at 8,000 feet, with winds of over 140 mph blasting!
This stunt, which will undoubtedly be this final installment's signature sequence. has been in the works for several years now, with Cruise ("Ethan Hunt") and director Christopher McQuarrie having meticulously shot it over the last two years. The duo actually first teased the plane sequence at CinemaCon 2023 ahead of the launch of that summer's Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning.
The previous installment received widespread critical acclaim and the follow-up is shaping up to bigger and better in every way, as Ethan Hunt and his elite team of Imf operatives race against the clock to stop The Entity once and for all.

Films have a unique way of showing us how stories are built, broken, and reimagined, and nowhere is that more evident than in a well-executed plot twist. It reshapes the entire experience and forces audiences to question everything they have just seen.
A great twist flips the narrative on its head. It isn’t, however, just about pulling the rug out for shock value. None of it matters if the scene you’re building toward for the entirety of your film falls flat. We’re looking at you, the much dreaded, “It was all a dream.” Succintly put, a good twist builds on three very specific things – anticipation, revelation, and satisfaction – and it only hits hardest when it ties into your characters and themes.
In this instance, we’re taking ranking ten movies that make us sit up stunned with the realization that we’ve been played, perhaps in the best way possible.

Mark Ruffalo and Edward Norton have both been able to create quite a career for themselves in Hollywood. With both actors having critically acclaimed films under their belt, it is a given that they must have worked with some of the best names in Hollywood.
While both actors have been part of the massively successful Marvel Cinematic Universe, they have also run with directors who have worked with both of them, such as David Fincher. Both these actors have praised how the director handles his work, and how is able to deliver great movies time and again.

While most animated shows are made with the idea of kids kept in mind, that is not the case with Love, Death + Robots. This Emmy-winning anthology series tore up the rulebook and rewrote what animated storytelling could look like for adults.
If you have already seen the first three volumes of Love, Death + Robots, you already know what the series is about; for those who are new to the show or stumbled across this, let me tell you what the show is about–it is literally what the title claims to be: about love, death, and robots.
After its release in 2019, it blew up like an explosion. It was not just another animated show; it was a full-blown animation revolution. The show was created by Tim Miller, the man behind legendary movies like Deadpool and Terminator: Dark Fate. And if that doesn’t convince you to watch it, here is...

There’s something about Edward Norton that sets him apart. He doesn’t just play a character—he disappears into it. Every performance feels raw, lived-in, and totally believable, like he’s not acting at all. Whether he’s a troubled narrator, a reformed neo-Nazi, or a genius with a secret, Norton brings layers and intensity that few actors can match. He’s built a career on complexity, always choosing roles that leave a mark. Honestly, he’s not just part of modern cinema—he’s helped shape it.
Blowing up in the late 90s with a string of Oscar-worthy performances, Norton quickly became the guy directors had to work with. He’s teamed up with visionaries like David Fincher, Tony Kaye, and Wes Anderson, shared the screen with legends like Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins, and delivered some of the most iconic performances that created a shift in the world of filmmaking.

Known for the innate ability to roast its own, Hollywood spares no one. Seth Rogen’s The Studio is a classic example of a satire parody, and it takes many a dig at some of the most prestigious names in the industry.
With David Fincher’s ferociously perfectionist approach mocked in the show, one can’t help but wonder how fair it is. After all, he is the one who gave several actors their career-defining roles, one of the biggest examples being Amanda Seyfried in Mank (2020).

Cliff Booth Returns Hollywood(Photo Credit –Facebook)
Well, here’s a plot twist straight out of Hollywood, David Fincher is reportedly hopping into Quentin Tarantino’s universe with a sequel to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Yep, the guy behind Fight Club is taking the wheel on a Tarantino-penned follow-up to the 2019 Oscar-winning flick, and honestly, that’s the kind of unexpected crossover energy we’re here for. Even wilder? Brad Pitt is back as the ultra-chill, maybe-murderous stuntman Cliff Booth.
While most sequels just try to cash in on nostalgia, this one seems like it’s got some real brains behind it. Insiders are now spilling the tea on how exactly Fincher’s take connects to the original, and it’s not just “more Hollywood stuff.” There’s a real continuation going on, story-wise and vibe-wise. So if you thought Cliff and Rick’s wild ride ended on that flamethrower high note,...

Exclusive: Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B Entertainment has revealed that it is in early talks to make what could become a second season of Adolescence after the series’ success on Netflix.
In their first interview since Adolescence went off like a firework last month, Plan B co-presidents Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner told Deadline that they are speaking to director Philip Barantini about the “next iteration” of the show, which starred and was co-created by Stephen Graham.
Gardner said they are thinking about how they can “widen the aperture, stay true to its DNA, [and] not be repetitive,” but she did not wish to reveal too much about their plans. Kleiner added that they hope Graham and Jack Thorne, the British writer behind Adolescence, can re-team on the project. Warp Films and Matriarch Productions were the co-producers.

There are things that define the styles of various filmmakers. While the atmosphere of a David Fincher film is always new and darker than the previous one, there are certain roots that he touches now and again. The uniqueness and genius of David Fincher, however, isn’t being a better version of a M. Night Shyamalan or being a filmmaker inspired by a certain Alfred Hitchcock; it’s in being and making something that stands on its own. He doesn’t weave around expositions and makes solid ground with the written work in his hands. He believes in his writers and the actors involved, and he squeezes them till the last drop of perfection.
As Fincher turns a year older and definitely wiser, we take a look back at his amazing filmography. Making a toast to him, we rank his films from the weakest to the best. We haven’t...

We have some fresh details regarding the upcoming "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" sequel that is currently being put together by Netflix. For those who may have missed it, yes, we are apparently getting a follow-up to director Quentin Tarantino's Oscar-winning 2019 smash hit. Brad Pitt is returning as Cliff Booth, with David Fincher on board to direct, working from a script by Tarantino. While we don't have a plot synopsis or anything like that, we do have some sense of what the movie is going to be now.
During a recent episode of the "Big Picture" podcast, hosts Sean Fennessey and Amanda Dobbins discussed the surprise sequel and shared what they've learned about the project. Fennessey revealed that it's actually probably best to not think of the film as a sequel. Rather, it's more akin to the "further adventures of Cliff Booth." Here's what he had to say...

During last night's Final Four games on CBS, Paramount Pictures announced that the brand new theatrical trailer for Tom Cruise's highly anticipated Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning - which originally debuted at CinemaCon last week - will be released online Monday!
Whether it'll drop during the National Championship Game or earlier in the day remains to be seen, but we'd wager on the latter since that's generally when the studio tends to launch new footage. We'd then expect a TV spot to debut during the game, directing fans online to check out the full-length trailer.
Plot details remain under wraps, but we learned at CinemaCon that the film will pick up two months after the events of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning, with Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) still seemingly on the run and presumably on the hunt for the sunken Sevastopol.

Tarantino 10-Movie Rule(Photo Credit –Facebook)
Quentin Tarantino, cinema’s ultimate wild card, may have just pulled his strangest move yet, stepping away from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’s sequel, all because of his self-imposed “10-movie rule.” That’s right, the man who gave us foot-closeups, long-winded diner banter, and more fake movie posters than we can count has decided ten and done is the magic number for his directorial career.
And now? Netflix is picking up the pieces, with none other than David Fincher set to direct the follow-up, bringing back Brad Pitt’s lovable stuntman Cliff Booth for another round of retro mayhem.
Sure, Fincher and Pitt have a killer history, but it’s still bittersweet that Tarantino, the original mastermind behind the dreamy, sun-soaked chaos of 1969 Hollywood, won’t be behind the camera. Instead, he’s just penning the script. The sequel might be in capable hands,...

It's been 15 years since moviegoers last took a trip to the Grid in "Tron: Legacy," and while fans of this sci-fi franchise are absolutely champing at the bit for a third installment over a decade later, they might need to readjust their expectations. Because this time, the Grid is coming to us.
Directed by Joachim Rønning, the plot of "Tron: Ares" has been shrouded in secrecy ever since the project was first announced way back in 2017. Brad Pitt is a man of many talents, a Hollywood heartthrob, an Academy Award winner, and a producer extraordinaire. He’s given us legendary performances in Fight Club, Inglourious Basterds, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. But for all his cinematic triumphs, there’s one role that left fans scratching their heads and asking, “Wait… what was that?”
Sometimes, even the biggest stars can stumble, and Pitt’s appearance in 12 Years a Slave is a prime example of an actor missing the mark but still making a game-changing impact behind the scenes. Pitt’s career has been nothing short of iconic.

Whether he’s smashing skulls with a baseball bat as Aldo Raine or charming audiences as the smooth con artist Rusty Ryan, he’s got the kind of charisma that makes people line up at the box office.

Jared Leto Alexander Movie Scene ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Jared Leto has been in Hollywood for decades, playing everything from real-life criminals to rock stars and, yes, even comic book villains. But despite his versatility, one of his most financially successful films was also one of his biggest failures.
Alexander (2004) may have had an all-star cast, a legendary director, and a massive budget, but it bombed at the box office. And yet, somehow, it still ranked among Leto’s highest-grossing movies.
Before winning an Oscar, Leto was a My So-Called Life heartthrob. He thrived in dark roles, stealing scenes in Fight Club, American Psycho, and Requiem for a Dream, before Panic Room, Lord of War, and his wild Suicide Squad Joker.

In one of the biggest stories of the year, The Playlist has learned that David Fincher and Brad Pitt are set to reunite for a Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood sequel for Netflix, centered around Pitt's character Cliff Booth.
Quentin Tarantino wrote the screenplay, which evolved from his now-scrapped project The Movie Critic - a 1970s-set film that would've focused on a movie reviewer for a pornographic magazine, with Cliff Booth also featuring.
However, while writing, Tarantino became more and more fascinated with exploring Booth further, expanding his role in the story throughout the process and ultimately developing a different project entirely. He then showed the script to Pitt who was taken by the direction, and when Tarantino said he wasn't interested in helming this one, Pitt asked if he could find his own director.
Enter David Fincher, his director on Se7en, Fight Club, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

A ‘derivative’ of Quentin Tarantino’s original, rather than a sequel, will be produced by Netflix, and continues Pitt’s relationship with the director of Seven and Fight Club
Brad Pitt is to star in a follow-up to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. But, having written the script, Tarantino will hand directing duties to David Fincher, according to a report in the Playlist and subsequently confirmed by Deadline.
In Tarantino’s 2019 alternative-history drama about the Manson “family” and Sharon Tate, Pitt starred as stunt performer Cliff Booth opposite Leonardo DiCaprio (as washed-up actor Rick Dalton) and Margot Robbie (as Tate). While no plot details of the new project have been officially announced, the Hollywood Reporter is saying it will be “derivative” of the original, rather than a sequel. Tarantino published a “novelisation” of the film in 2021, which included further details of Booth’s backstory and life episodes.

Well, well, well… It looks like Hollywood just can’t resist diving into its treasure trove of the past! After Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood graced the big screen in 2019, whisking us through a wistful and bittersweet farewell to the Golden Age of cinema, many of us couldn’t help but wonder: is this truly the end of the line? No, this is not an April Fool’s prank!
The sequel we never saw coming is not just on the horizon; it’s poised to rewrite the narrative. Quentin Tarantino and Brad Pitt might not be entirely done with Cliff Booth.
In what initially struck many cinephiles as a cruel April Fool’s joke but has now been reported by multiple outlets, Pitt is in talks to reprise his Oscar-winning role from “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” in a film written by Tarantino and directed by David Fincher, and which is set up at Netflix. The project, which first reported on by The Playlist, has been described as an extension of the mythology of the first film without necessarily being a direct sequel.
Representatives for Netflix and Tarantino did not respond to IndieWire’s requests for comment.

David Fincher is directing a sequel to “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” with Quentin Tarantino writing the follow-up to his Oscar-winning epic. Variety confirms the project, which does not have an official title, is being set up at Netflix, where Fincher has a first-look deal. Brad Pitt will reprise his role as stuntman and potential wife-killer Cliff Booth.
It’s an especially unique production — not only because a high-profile director is helming a sequel to another high-profile director’s film, but also because of the property’s shift from a theatrical studio to a streamer. (The shift is especially pertinent as news of the project emerged during the movie theater industry’s annual weeklong gathering at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.) “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” was released by Sony Pictures in 2019, but Tarantino negotiated a deal that would return him ownership of the film’s underlying copyright after a number of years.

As unlikely as it sounds, a spinoff of Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood,” focused on Brad Pitt’s Cliff Booth, is back in the realm of possibility, courtesy of David Fincher and Netflix. And no, this isn’t an April Fool’s Day prank.
Fincher will direct from an original script by Tarantino, with Netflix footing the bill and subsequently getting exclusive rights to the project. This would be the first Tarantino-related project ever to get a streaming-first release, something possible only because he isn’t directing it himself — and because of Fincher’s first-look deal with Netflix.
According to The Playlist, which first reported the news, Tarantino’s script grew out of “The Movie Critic,” Tarantino’s abandoned ‘final film’ in which Pitt would have reprised his Oscar-winning role — presumably opposite some other acting legend playing the title character.

You'd have to think this was an April Fools' Joke, and yet, here we are. Reports have now been confirmed that David Fincher and Brad Pitt are teaming up once again — this time for a sequel to Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 Oscar-winning epic, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Yes, really. We're not kidding. No, we can't believe it either. In an unprecedented move, Fincher will direct and Pitt will star in a new film based on a screenplay written by Quentin Tarantino — a rare situation, considering Tarantino is known for writing and directing all his own material. Even more surprising? The film is being fast-tracked at Netflix, where Fincher has a first-look deal, with plans to shoot this July in California. Sources suggest Netflix may have shelled out over $20 million just for the script.

Tarantino wrote the script for the feature project, which is set up at Netflix and which could go before cameras by late summer, according to one source.

Brad Pitt is rumored to be reprising his role of Cliff Booth in an upcoming sequel to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood!
The Oscar winner won Best Supporting Actor at the Academy Awards for his work in the Quentin Tarantino movie and the beloved filmmaker will not be directing the rumored sequel.
The Playlist is reporting that Quentin will return to write the screenplay for the untitled film, but directing duties will go to David Fincher.
The outlet says that Quentin‘s screenplay for the previously planned film The Movie Critic evolved into this new project and Netflix is possibly paying over $20 million for the script. The streamer is allegedly planning on shooting the film in California this summer with a $200 million budget.
Leonardo DiCaprio is reportedly not expected to be involved in the film, but The InSneider reports that Leo will also in talks to appear in the project.

The ten-year anniversary celebrations for director Christopher Nolan's epic science-fiction film Interstellar are showing no signs of abating. Not too long after the movie was re-released in theaters worldwide, it entered a rather exclusive list on the platform Letterboxd, where users can log, review, and rate films. Interstellar is now among only three titles on the platform with over five million views. Released in 2014, the film featured Matthew McConaughey as a NASA astronaut who goes on a mission to find a habitable new planet for a severely endangered humankind.
On Monday, Letterboxd announced that Interstellar had become the latest film to achieve over 5 million views, joining Greta Gerwig's Barbie and David Fincher's Fight Club. It's an eclectic list that reflects the diverse tastes of the platform's users. While Interstellar is a philosophical big screen spectacle, Barbie is a satirical comedy drama, and Fight Club is the definition of a cult hit.

One of the writers onCaptain America: Brave New World is pushing back against some of the negative reviews the movie has received. Captain America: Brave New World opened in theaters on Feb. 14, 2025 and was certainly not the big start to 2025 that Marvel Studios was likely hoping for, as it garnered a 48% rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes — making it only the third MCU film to get a rotten rating alongside 2021's Eternals (47%) and 2023's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (46%). For what it's worth, the audience's reaction was mixed with positivity.
Speaking with The Direct, screenwriter Rob Edwards explained why he thinks critics missed the market on Captain America: Brave New World. Edwards is one of five credited screenwriters on the fourth Captain America movie, and also has a story by credit in the film. When Seth MacFarlane's "Family Guy" premiered on January 31, 1999 after Super Bowl Xxxiii, it got an artificial ratings bump right out of the gate that was going to be difficult for the animated series to maintain. Indeed, after finishing its first season at 33rd in the Nielsen ratings (with only seven episodes), the show's viewership evaporated during its second season and fell off even more during its third season. Almost no one was watching, so Fox pulled the plug on the series in 2002. Three years later, thanks to a surge in popularity driven by Adult Swim syndication, Fox gave "Family Guy" another shot, and it appears that it is never, ever going away. This may or may not delight you.
In any event, we have gone 26 years with "Family Guy" in our lives, and while the state of the world has been in drastic decline over this period, you can't...

David Fincher was the most sought-after commercial and music video director in the world in 1992 when he followed the example of his predecessors Alan Parker, Ridley Scott, and Tony Scott by segueing into the unpredictable world of film production. Pulling a Ridley, so to speak, with "Alien 3" might've felt like a propitious move, but it turned into a nightmare production that resulted in the compromising of Fincher's dark vision and the damaging of a valuable studio franchise. The fledgling filmmaker took close to 100 percent of the blame, at which point it looked like he'd get kicked back down to videos and commercials for the foreseeable future.
As we know, he soared brilliantly out of the ashes three years later with "Se7en," and cemented his geek god cinema bona fides in 1999 with "Fight Club." Suddenly, Fincher was the Generation X Stanley Kubrick, a visionary of the now who didn't...

Since the Golden Age of Hollywood, the horror genre has given audiences an assortment of great scary movies, from Psycho and Dracula to Hellraiser and Halloween. Throughout that time, the genre has built up a number of iconic careers, with the likes of Robert Englund and Jamie Lee Curtis becoming household names in cinema. However, some of the best horror movies make great use of stars known for other genres, such as action, science fiction and comedy.
Scary movies have proven some of Hollywood's best stars every bit as versatile as their reputations suggest, turning action heroes into killers and child actors into horror icons. Seeing actors go against type often gives them some of their most memorable roles and best-remembered films, and some are great examples of this. Ranging from haunted house thrillers to slashers, these films proved their stars were more than their best-known roles.

David Fincher has worked with Brad Pitt on three films: Se7en, Fight Club, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. According to WorldofReel, the pair are looking to reunite on a new Netflix movie which could even be the director’s next project.
Take all of this with a grain of salt for now, but the report states that the project will be a sequel to a movie Fincher didn’t direct. Interesting. I wonder if this could be a resurrected version of the World War Z sequel, which Fincher was once slated to direct before it fell apart. Either way, Fincher and Pitt have done good work together, and it would be a treat to see them collaborate once again.

Wherever you go, there you are. That iconic line has become a pop culture mainstay thanks to one of the strangest movies of the 80s, Buckaroo Banzai or, as it is formally titled, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. This 1984 science fiction movie has been a cult classic for four decades and remains a fan favorite thanks to its virtually unexplainable plot. Part comedy, part action, part scifi, part martial arts, part musical, part western, part satire and part of a franchise that never came to be, Buckaroo Banzai may be the single most bizarre movie we have ever covered for this series.

Few television shows have captured the hearts of fans the way Modern Family has. Running for over 11 successful seasons from 2009 to 2020, the show has garnered critical reviews and has had a huge cultural impact through its unique mockumentary style.
A 22-time Emmy-winning sitcom, Modern Family not only redefined family-based comedy but also became a favorite for its witty storyline, relatable characters, and heartwarming moments.

While the Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker did a good job at keeping the audience entertained with their unusual, hilarious antics, what makes the show even more special is the countless surprise guest stars who popped in every now and then for unforgettable cameos. Throughout its run, there have been multiple actors and celebrities who have made an appearance, becoming a hit among fans. However, there have also been plenty of blink-and-you-miss-it cameos that perhaps even die-hard fans would have a hard time remembering.

Few directors have a penchant for precision, like David Fincher. He is a master of mood, method, and mischief, and there is something inherently hypnotic about his style of cinema. While films like Fight Club, The Social Network, and Se7en have come to define the filmmaker’s legacy and filmography, another side of his work often gets relegated to the B side.

10. Mank (2020)
David Fincher rarely gets credit for his playfulness as much as he does for his precision. Mank is a homage to 1930s and ’40s Hollywood that isn’t a love letter to its Golden Age but a look at its hypocrisies and ambitions.

Neeraj Pandey’s fame perplexes me. After making A Wednesday, Special 26, and Baby, the man has repeatedly failed as a writer, director, and producer to deliver anything that’s barely watchable. Audiences took their merry time to realize that, but after the one-two punch of Auron Mein Dum Kahan Dum Tha and Sikandar Ka Muqaddar, they were compelled to collectively say that enough is enough. The same can’t be said about his stint on the small screen, where, with every new entry, his storytelling keeps getting more and more jingoistic and boring, and people seem to like it all the same. That’s fine; everyone’s sense of taste is different. However, he has made things personal by bringing his brand of bland to West Bengal. He had the audacity to adapt Chuck Palahniuk’s Fight Club in the form of The Royal Bengal Tiger. Then he produced Chengiz,...

Some of the greatest movies in cinema history began as a box office disappointment. There are several factors that go into whether films become blockbuster hits or box office bombs. Film history has proved that some of these factors have worked against great films, resulting in a poor box office performance.
These factors could vary, such as poor marketing efforts, as seen in the case of The Iron Giant, a badly made theatrical cut like the Blade Runner theatrical cut, or unfavorable circumstances like in the case of Donnie Darko.

It’s no secret thatEdward Norton tends to deliver intense, complicated performances such as his roles in Fight Club, Primal Fear, or 25th Hour. So, it’s natural to assume that his directorial debut would be dark, gritty or at the very least, brooding. Keeping the Faith managed to be everything but that, dropping the usual Norton-esque flavor for a romantic dramedy about two best friends. The twist? The pair happen to be a priest and a rabbi who fall for the same woman. With a setup that sounds like the beginning of a joke, tons of humor is expected, even better is how it’s never at the expense of either religion.

Jason Momoa is best known for his role as Aquaman in the Dceu, but he first gained his shot at fame with Game of Thrones. The actor played the Dothraki emperor Khal Drogo and was paired up with Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen. Momoa’s brief but memorable performance as the silent and brooding Khal impressed fans and critics alike.
Looking at Momoa, it is obvious that he is a strong man, who has severely bulked up since his short stint on Game of Thrones. However, co-creator and showrunner David Benioff reportedly took the foolish journey to discovering just how strong Momoa was by challenging him to not one but two tests of strength, thus severely injuring himself.

Sometimes, a twist is the best part of a feature film. When the whole story leads to a big reveal that changes the way you see the movie, it's like a brand-new world of storytelling that just opened up. Sometimes, great twists can change a movie's genre, like in Parasite, which switches to a thriller halfway; other times, great twists make people want to rewatch the movie, knowing what they know now, such as in Fight Club or Shutter Island. Some movies are even improved by their plot twists, making them better in the long run.
