Its catchy title notwithstanding, HOUSE OF THE RISING MOON is assembly-line shot-on-video porn, watchable only due to the efforts of several attractive and enthusiastic leading ladies. It is misleadingly marketed as a "classic shot on 35mm film" by Caballero, false advertising since it's video all the way. Copy I bought had no credits whatsoever, and I can vouch for the director's wise move to leave his name off.
Mauvais De Noir runs a cat house, with film beginning mid-scene as star whore working for her, Buffy Davis, is servicing three customers at once. Among them is Ray Victory, a Black super-stud of the time, who curiously is omitted entirely from IMDb's credit list (I'm adding him).
Episodic porn filler here is punctuated by the comedy of Lee Jay, a scruffy old Prof. Irwin Corey type who fortunately doesn't participate in the sex, though he obviously wanted to. His old-fashioned burlesque style presence adds a misplaced and unnecessary bit of nostalgia to the proceedings.
Otherwise, it's all-sex time, with huge breasted Je Te Aime a dominant presence, earning her cover girl status on the DVD box, though the box baits & switches by not listing her name but Mauvais De Noir(e) instead. Noir performs her anal sex specialty here.
Besides Davis, bubbly as ever, kudos go to Tiffany Storm for her interracial anal scene opposite Victory. Poor Ray is another porn star anxiously awaiting Pfizer's invention of Viagra, as he closely approximates John Holmes in this video by achieving intercourse without first achieving an erection.
The video lensing is bright and clear, about the highest praise I can afford this nothing video.
