This is the only movie (and only time in all DBZ, for that matter) in which Yamcha wears a Gi with the turtle symbol on the front and the King Kai symbol on the back. His Gi of choice after being resurrected in the series is the opposite (Kai in front, turtle at the back - and he is the only character to wear a Gi of this style).
Turles:
Kakarot, you raised this Saiyan too much like an Earthling!
Goku:
I raised him to know the difference between good and evil, unlike some people!
Turles:
I know the difference, I just don't care! But I used to!
Turles apparently knows the Power Ball technique, which is only supposed to be known by Saiyan elites - not low-class Saiyans like Turles.
While other DBZ movies just used whatever opening went with the show at the time the movie was release, Tree of Might features a specially-made opening, featuring the Z-Fighters gathering the Dragon Balls to restore the destroyed forest.
The version of the movie shown as a three-part mini-series on TV is a completely different dub that the Pioneer dubbed version featured on the DVD. Additionally, the TV edit cuts out some profanity, nudity, and violence.
