Before Andy Cohen got his mitts on the property, "Love Connection" was a popular pablum tv show in the '80s and '90s. Hack director Roy Karch spoofs the original in this tame and poorly executed VCX release from the VHS era.
The competitive nature of the show is dropped, and we merely are introduced to guests and then "watch" their flashbacks showing how each one's date went. All the sex scenes are boring and mechanical, but it is worth commenting upon the basic flaws in Karch's approach.
With a limited cast, and probably to save per diem costs, he has the porn players double or triple in various roles which we, assumed to be mindless viewers merely interested in observing generic XXX footage, are supposed to overlook.
His idea of humor is to augment the horrendous laugh-track with occasional cutaways to the studio audience's reaction, consisting of stock footage of crowds in a sports stadium or what look's like some mass rally in a Communist nation. It ain't funny.
Most interesting flub is a lousy scene of egocentric Marc Wallice given a blind date with a dancer, after he tells smamy host Eric Edwards he digs ballet. She turns out to be Jeannie Pepper, who does a striptease, exchanges oral sex with Marc and then mounts his cock. Surprise, surprise, he suffers a premature ejaculation, spontaneously spurting on here vagina after less than 20 seconds of intercourse. This is not referred to at all in the show, just another demerit in the actor's long list of transgressions.
Rachel Ryan as a blonde is an unimpressive lead and Barbie Dahl looks surprisingly a lot like the young Goldie Hawn, though a tramp version of her. Randy Spears gets billed as Gregg Ory but is easily recognizable.
