A wealthy New York City investment banking executive, Patrick Bateman, hides his alternate psychopathic ego from his co-workers and friends as he delves deeper into his violent, hedonistic fantasies.
The cast and crew viewed Mario Bava's A Hatchet for the Honeymoon (1970) prior to filming for inspiration. One of the film's producers, Christian Halsey Solomon, is the son of Brett Halsey, who appeared as the lead of Bava's films Roy Colt & Winchester Jack (1970) and Four Times that Night (1971).
