Directed by one-credit "Clyde Cooper" (whoever the real person may be), Tall Dark Stranger steps out on a dubious foot, as Cal Jammer and a sunglasses-wearing Jesse Eastern briefly chat on an airplane.
Even by the low-budget standards of porn, the airplane "set" is nonexistent, made all the more pointless by the flight attendant (Cameo, in an early role) wearing not the uniform which is the main reason most fetish-minded viewers want to see this scenario, but instead a top and skirt which suggests TDS Airlines has the most casual Casual Friday policy imaginable. Moving on from her clothes, she soon moves on from them herself via Jesse Eastern's hypnotic stare, made clear for us by jungle drums every time he takes off his sunglasses. An adequate enough threesome starts with Eastern, Cameo, and Jammer, as Jammer talks and talks about all the things Eastern could do with those glasses. This makes you think you might get some sort of wacky teamup between the men as they climb up the power ladder...which does not happen. The glasses exist just to teach women to be more horny for their be-mulleted men.
We get three interconnected scenes showing the consequences of Eastern's powers, the grimiest being when he transforms Jennifer Stewart into a sex-obsessed wife for Jeff James. Everything about James' aura in this movie gives off skeevy enough vibes to where you wouldn't be averse to thinking David Lynch missed an opportunity not casting James as another of Laura Palmer's underworld connections. This scene and the following lesbian encounter between Stewart and Racquel Darrian are further overshadowed by the director's voice repeatedly popping up on the soundtrack. The other constant in all these scenes is a score which sounds like it was taken by - or from - the Prevue Channel.
The fourth scene, with Darrian and hard up husband Derek Lane, has a very funny (intentionally or not) twist, enough to where this really should have been the end, but for some reason we get a completely disconnected closer with Eastern and Jacqueline which would have made more sense as taking place right after the plane sequence.
Of course, nobody was watching this film for artistic reasons, but since they did choose to weave in a story element, a few quick changes could have helped. As it is, you get a mostly forgettable, jumbled experience.
