Video game adventurer Lara Croft comes to life in a movie where she races against time and villains to recover powerful ancient artifacts.
The monkeys Lara fights are modelled after the ones at Banteay Srei, a temple located far from Angkor Wat. They are the guardians of the door.
When Powell pulls the knife out of his shoulder, the blade is obviously retractable.
There are no opening credits after the title has been shown.
Original version of the film included another shower scene where Lara is showering in an outdoor location near some big plants. This scene is shown being filmed in the "Digging Into Tomb Raider" making-of. Nude versions of shower scenes and one where Lara throws her towel away were filmed with nude body double of Angelina Jolie, but all scenes were cut for PG-13 rating.
