Written and produced by Paul Ricard himself (Monsieur pastis de Marseille and so many adventures), it was shot at his own place, "le mas de Méjannes". In the Pagnol style, it tells the story of the fight between rice cultivators and bull cultivators. Through this fiction, the movie is a true documentary of old Camargue with magnificent shooting. Each actor is fun, and Tilda Thamar is gorgeous, especially in the bathing scene.
