  • Hindustan Ki Kasam is the best war movie made in India. While in 'Border' they only make reference to one fighter plane called 'Hunter', in 'Hidustan ki kasam' they show Plenty of footage of various aircraft used in the indo-pak war like Gnats, Sukhois, Migs and Sabres including the 'Hunter'. The movie showed plenty of Air Combat.

It has plenty of dogfights and bombing featuring Sukhoi-7's, Mig-21's, Sabres, Gnats etc. The Mig-21 stunts in the movie were done by actual fighter pilot Flt Lt Samar Shah and Flt Lt Manbir Singh. (Flt Lt Samar Shah was also a recepient of Vir Chakra in the indo-Pak war. The movie has great performance done by Balraj Sahani, Raj Kumar, Vijay Anand, Amrish puri and amjad khan. The songs are also great.
  • This is one of those movies that deserves to be properly subtitled in English.

In some ways the acting and delivery of dialogue is 1970s Bollywood but that should not take your attention away from a very good movie.

A lot of action, a very intriguing espionage angle and above all, vintage aircraft!

Even if you do not understand a word of Hindi, watch this movie for the vintage combat aircraft alone.

From Canberras and MiG-21s to Su-7s and Hunters, this movie has them all. The old Folland Gnats are featured and in an interesting twist, the IAF's Mysteres were repainted with PAF insignia to play F-86 Sabres.

The flying sequences are pretty dated but surprisingly good and the espionage subplot is handled very well indeed.

It is a feast for aviation aficionados for this alone.

The acting and dialogue is a little melodramatic and the dialogue delivery is "filmi" but this is still, even with those flaws an excellent movie and one worth watching.

It is a shame that an English subtitled DVD release has not been done for this classic war movie.
