  • Two exceptional actors, one better than the other, Annie Girardot (very young and beautiful) and François Périer, in an original and impeccable interpreted story. For me, Périer and Girardot are two of the best actors of all time, being in that rare category of those who do not act, but live the characters. With other actors, the film would have been boring, dull and flat.
  • Warning: Spoilers
It's really a forgotten little gem I am talking about. Starring the late Annie Girardot and François Périer, we watch here the classic scheme of the lovers and the husband. Perier is the latest who suspects his wife - Girardot - to have an affair with his colleague. Nothing new here, I admit, but the following is on the rate of an AH PRESENTS episode topic. The two lovers plan to get rid of the husband, who is aware of that. This is where it is very interesting; we wonder how he will succeed or fail in his project. Will he or not?

The ending gives us unexpected results. A good product. Adapted from the great and prolific novelist Michel Lebrun.
  • At the time ,in the wake of the success of highly talented Clouzot's "Les Diaboliques" ,a lot of French directors tried their hand at thrillers .This one boasts a great pair of actors (Annie Girardot and François Périer);plus a young Georges Descrieres (the French audience knows as Arsene Lupin in a rather mediocre TV series which did not do the books justice). But the screenplay, based on the eternal love triangle,is as old as the hills and the average viewer has guessed who hides under the bandages as soon as the injured driver appears bedridden in a gloomy hospital. And the ending is a damp squib, a shame for a movie which claims to be a thriller!don't be diabolic!don't you recommend that!
