Will and Grace live together in an apartment in New York City. He's a gay lawyer, she's a straight interior designer. Their best friends are Jack, a gleeful but proud gay man, and Karen, a charismatic, filthy rich, amoral socialite.
Originally, Max Mutchnick and David Kohan pitched a straightforward couples comedy in which a gay man and his straight female roommate were supporting characters. NBC liked the supporting characters better.
Grace. It's Christmas, for goodness sake. Think about the baby Jesus: up in that tower, letting his hair down... so that the three wise men can climb up and spin the dradel and see if there are six more weeks of winter.
In the earlier series, the deadlock on Grace's office door is backwards. The door opens inwards yet the part of the lock where the key is required is on the inside of the office and the latch that can be opened by hand is on the outside - rendering the lock useless. This is corrected in later seasons.
