Pastures of plenty?
With the eventual exception of " Son Dernier Rôle" ,Jean Gourguet 's efforts are terrible .We touch the bottom of the French cinema with "La P..... Sentimentale ":the points of suspensions were compulsory at the time for the censorship was ruthless;let's call a spade a spade :p is for "putain" (=whore).

The movie starts like a schoolboy prank and ends up as a very bad melodrama .Even seasoned actors such as Pierre Larquey and Andrex could not salvage the movie.

A high school boy (Maurice Sarfati,27 at the time, you read well!)falls for a prostitute he met on the notorious "Rue Des Patures" (Pâture in French has two meanings:1)a pasture 2) the food they throw to the animals) where the pimps throw their "food" to the males .He wants to snatch Linda from her brutal pimp, but this man is not prepared to accept it and he wants to sell her .The youngster's family is wealthy, his bourgeois father is overtaken by events and his attractive stepmother do not care:fortunately, his guardian -he lost his mom -is here to watch over the prodigal son but he's 75 and his youth memories are far behind.

If you want a tale of a hooker and her pimp, take "Hotel Du Nord" instead and avoid this piece of garbage.
