Welcome to the latest edition of our regular crowdfunding feature here on Nerdly – Back This! – where we take a look at some of the cool content taking the crowdfunding route on sites such as Indiegogo, Sponsume and Kickstarter. In this edition we’re taking a look at two new movie campaigns: a creature feature and a fantastic sounding Troma documentary.
One Drop
One Drop is a new horror creature feature from director Tricia Lee, which tells the story of a single mother who wakes up in the basement of a medical facility only to discover that everyone around her is dead and she is somehow nine months pregnant. As she tries to escape, she realises that something not-quite-human is prowling the hallways, and the only means of survival may be growing inside of her.
Lee, one of the very few successful female directors in the genre, first made the audience...

Denis Villeneuve will have two films in the festival as it emerged that Canadian Features world premiere Enemy starring Jake Gyllenhaal as a man and his doppelganger [pictured] has joined the previously announced Prisoners, also starring Gyllenhaal.
The Canadian Features selection includes Michael Dowse’s Goon follow-up The F Word, Xavier Dolan’s Tom At The Farm and Chloe Robichaud’s Sarah Prefers To Run as well as work from Jeff Barnaby, Bruce McDonald and Bruce Labruce. Also receiving its world premiere is All The Wrong Reasons featuring the final performance by the late Glee star Cory Monteith.
Festival organisers also unveiled Producers Lab Toronto participants and Telefilm Canada Pitch This! finallists, the shorts programme and participants in the tenth Tiff Talent Lab.

The Voice's judges strike a pose before they're stuck in those chairs for the next few months.
I hope your DVR is clear, since fall TV is starting to kick off and TV schedules are suddenly getting packed...

Wilmer Valderrama will be returning to Suburgatory, just to make Chatswin sexier. Oh, and to help Yakult deal with depression, but mostly he'll be bringing the sexy.
For some reason the Canadian crime drama Diamonds is stuck in my memory. Maybe its the catchy theme song, or the fun concept, or that one time Nicholas Campbell was shirtless. The show followed a couple of actors who bought a detective agency as a publicity stunt and end up running it when their detective show is cancelled. I'm bringing it up since the CW is developing a drama that sounds like Diamonds but with two former boyband members. That's right, the CW...

The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the third announced today. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on ABC.
The Alphabet solidly finished this past season with five of the top fifteen highest-rated TV series in the key Adults 18-49 demographic - "Grey's Anatomy," "Lost," "Desperate Housewives," "Dancing with the Stars" and "The Bachelor". Yet there's an obvious concern that the network has been floundering a bit when it comes to new shows - especially in terms of scripted drama which has been its greatest strength in modern times.
ABC had success launching four comedies last year, with both "Cougar Town" and "Modern Family" becoming ratings hits and the latter drawing critical acclaim. "Hank" outright flopped, but "The Middle" did well enough to get renewed. With reality shows it continues to do strong business...
