The VCR era of porn has many high points, but "The Naked Pen" falls into the strictly ephemeral category. Had it not survived at all no one could conceivably miss it.

Gimmick is lousy, and poorly developed to boot. Movie opens with a lousy sex scene, badly written and acted, merely rushing to the sex. The supposed saver is that after the money shot, we see Tom Byron at his trusty IBM Selectric, typing out this scene and further drivel for a spy movie.

So Mike Horner as Agent Taylor assigned to rescue a kidnapped (by terrorists) princess, coming up against tough gal TIffany Million was a dumb scene on purpose. That's a pretty lame excuse.

More sex scenes from Tom's unimaginative imagination follow, each stupid and played tongue firmly in cheek. Horner at one point turns to the camera for a comical aside.

Near the end Byron reflects on what he's typed, declaring: "This is ridiculous". All these copouts fail to cover for the mechanical sex scenes, wasting a talented cast including a very, very young Francesca Le.
