Kumail Nanjiani doesn’t mind posing for shirtless pics. At least, not these days after getting ridiculously jacked for his upcoming role in The Eternals. If you’ll recall, photos circulated late last year of the comedian’s incredible transformation and now, he’s at it again.
While appearing in Men’s Health Magazine, Nanjiani recreated some iconic shirtless scenes in movies including the volleyball scene from Top Gun, Patrick Bateman’s workout routine in American Psycho, John McClane crawling through a ventilation duct in Die Hard and as Hugh Jackman’s iconic turn as Wolverine.
In fact, Jackman was shown Nanjiani’s reenactment while appearing on Fox News and the actor was very impressed with the likeness, saying:
“Wow! That really looks like the set. That is so cool… If you’ve done all that work, get your shirt off.”

Coronavirus is no laughing matter, but they pay late night commentators big bucks to find the humor in all sorts of unfunny situations. So the show went on tonight, as Stephen Colbert, Trevor Noah, Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers tried to mine the comedy gold hidden in the worldwide pandemic.
Seth Meyers blamed President Donald Trump for a slow reaction to the coronavirus crisis, and made a few jokes on the Italian handling of its surging problems.

President Donald Trump tweets about Fox News with frequency, and while it’s always a gamble whether the tweets will be praise or an attack, Tuesday morning brought praise.
“Wow! @foxandfriends blew away the competition of Morning Joke (which did very poorly) on Msdnc (Another Comcast sleaze production), and @CNN’s New Day, in the Morning Television Ratings. A total blowout, but that’s what you get when you treat ‘Trump’ fairly!” the president wrote.
“Fox and Friends” has historically, like other Fox News programming, beaten its competitors on CNN and MSNBC in total viewers. It is regularly tweeted about in real-time by the president, a known avid viewer.
“Morning Joke” is, of course, Trump’s wordplay on MSNBC’s morning show “Morning Joe,” which is critical of the Trump administration.

The series finale of “Fresh Off the Boat” ended up with more viewers than its season average.
After seven days of delayed viewing, the first of its back-to-back episodes grew to 3.5 million total viewers, an 18% bump from its Live+Same Day audience and roughly 400,000 viewers more than the season 6 average. Meanwhile the very last episode grew by 27% in total viewership to just over 3 million.
“New Amsterdam” was the biggest gainer for the week of Feb. 17, adding around 4.8 million viewers, beating out “The Good Doctor,” which is topping the L+7 growth charts so far this season. The ABC medical drama leapt up 90%, or 4.7 million viewers, this time around.
Ratings-wise, “This Is Us,” “The Masked Singer” and “Grey’s Anatomy” grew the most, with the Fox singing competition show coming out on top overall at a 3.1 rating. However, all three shows were down on their Live+7 ratings average so far this season.

“The Bachelor” benefited from a strong Live+Same Day performance to jump up one place in the Live+3 TV ratings chart.
The Feb. 17 episode of the ABC dating show grew to a 2.3 rating among adults 18-49 after three days of delayed viewing, meaning it was beaten only by “The Masked Singer” and “This Is Us.”
Both the NBC drama and the Fox competition series were atop the biggest growers lists, followed by a trio of ABC shows in “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Good Doctor” and “A Million Little Things.”
On the total viewers front, “NCIS” grew its audience by a little less than usual in Live+3, but still came out on top 14.5 million. “This Is Us” ended up with almost exactly 10 million pairs of eyeballs, around 400,000 fewer than its season 4 average so far.

Something incredibly strange is afoot in the world of cinema right now. Not only did Hollywood seemingly achieve the impossible last year by delivering arguably the first good video game adaptation ever in the form of Detective Pikachu, but it has managed to turn the achievement into something of a trend.
Paramount’s Sonic The Hedgehog, despite getting off to a rocky start thanks to, let’s be honest, a heinous initial interpretation of Sega’s beloved mascot, has since proven to be something of a box office success. Critical reactions remain mixed, of course, though as was the case for The Pokémon Company’s first foray into live-action, audiences have been markedly more receptive to Sonic’s big-screen debut, acceptance that’s ultimately translated to massive commercial success.
That being the case, it goes without saying that Paramount will already be contemplating a potential sequel which, if certain post-credits...

Universal's 1917 made the most of strong word of mouth and two Golden Globe wins, topping the weekend box office with ease as it expanded nationwide following two weeks in limited release. Meanwhile, Paramount's Like a Boss fell a bit shy of its pre-weekend expectations and Fox's Underwater drowned. WB's expansion of Just Mercy, however, was able to deliver a top five finish as it also went nationwide following its limited release over the December holidays.
With an estimated $36.5 million, Universal's release of Sam Mendes's 1917 topped the weekend box office with ease as it expanded into 3,434 locations after playing in just 11 theaters over the previous two weeks. As recently as last week tracking for the film had it opening around $25 million, but following a pair of Golden Globe wins last Sunday and strong word of mouth, the film shattered those expectations and don't be surprised if...

Pete Buttigieg and Joe Biden were each in Los Angeles on Friday for campaign swings, but the former South Bend mayor also did some fundraising before showbiz-centric crowds.
At an evening event at the Sherman Oaks home of Lisa Gregorian, chief marketing officer for Warner Bros. Television Group, Buttigieg took questions from the group of donors and guests.
Among them: What about the possibility that President Donald Trump would not show up for general election debates?
According to a pool report, Buttigieg said that they need to make sure that there is a “price to be paid” if Trump refuses to debate, and said that skipping the event would be a “show of weakness.”
Trump tweeted last month that he looks forward to “debating whoever the lucky person is who stumbles across the finish line in the little watched Do Nothing Democrat Debates.” But he also complained that the group...

“Grey’s Anatomy” has been on ABC for 17 seasons and more than 350 episodes. That incredible run means unavoidable actor turnover. Now that Justin Chambers has said he’s leaving the medical drama, which of the original cast members are even left?

We've already run down our favorite action/adventure series, but now we're looking at a decade's worth of favorite procedural programming.
This is a reminder that we have almost two dozen favorites lists, and since we couldn't showcase every show on every list, we parsed them out a bit to make it more fun.
And these lists are not in any particular order. They're in the order the entries were received by TV Fanatic staff, so don't read into them!
To qualify, a show that began in another decade had to be airing during the decade, run a larger number of seasons from 2010 through 2019 if it started before 2010 or run the entire decade. Here we go!

With the end of Fox’s series Empire, a hit show with African American audiences, network CEO Charlie Collier was asked about future plans to greenlight shows that speak to underrepresented audiences.
“It’s remarkable when you look at Fox and go back to the early days of In Living Color, as you know what is going to be a tremendous finale season of Empire, Fox not only had the most diverse audience for a broadcast network but has also done some remarkable things in front of and behind the camera,” said Collier.
“We talk diversity, not just race and gender, but diversity of thought and the risk that we’re willing to take, the choices that these amazing artists are making to tell stories that really make a difference,” he continued. “Not only are we committed to it but we talk about how to approach it all the time.

Making Netflix's Marvel shows was problematic from the start.
A new Live Feed rundown from THR has laid out the bare facts of Netflix and Marvel's divorce, why the partnership had to end, and what the future of Marvel streaming will be.
Previously this week, we got some news that seemed utterly inevitable - Jessica Jones and The Punisher were toast on Netflix. The cancellation of the two shows came after Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and even flagship Marvel show Daredevil all got the axe from the streaming service, despite positive reviews for all three new seasons of each series.
The burning ember at the centre of the Netflix/Marvel partnership - that eventually had to go out - was the fact that Netflix didn't own a stake in any of the series. Disney always owned them, and Netflix paid a hefty price to license them.

Not since Meryl Streep’s Out of Africa (60 percent) has a Golden Globe winner fared so poorly among critics, and yet, that’s exactly the ‘honor’ that has befallen Bohemian Rhapsody, Fox and Dexter Flecther’s musical biopic about the inimitable Freddie Mercury.
It’s far from perfect, but a combination of Queen’s power ballads and Rami Malek’s tour-de-force performance elevated Bohemian Rhapsody from the pits of mediocrity. Still, there are those who feel last weekend’s Golden Globes award should have gone to a more worthy winner – like, say, A Star is Born or Marvel’s Black Panther – particularly now that Rotten Tomatoes has confirmed Bohemian Rhapsody to be the worst-reviewed winner in over 30 years.

With Gotham season 5 being the last run of the Batman prequel, the Fox series is planning to go out with a bang by introducing as many elements of the Dark Knight’s mythology into the show as possible in the short 10 episode season. For instance, Deadline has revealed this week that Nikita star Shane West has been cast as a new recurring villain, Eduardo Dorrance.
According to the publication, Dorrance is “an old Army buddy of Jim Gordon’s” who arrives in Gotham in the fallout of the events of season 4 finale “No Man’s Land,” which brought the city to its knees. Though he appears to be there to help Gotham, Jim will soon realize his friend has evil intentions.
Here’s how Deadline puts it:

In the end, the devil is always in the details in the television business and for the series finale of the now canceled Lucifer (0.8/4) last night the dark lord was pleased.
With literally a big reveal at the end of the Season 3 closer of the Tom Ellis led series set in the City of Angeles, Lucifer was up a tenth from last week among adults 18-49 and down just a tenth from its last finale of May 29, 2017 – which is a pretty steady road to Hell and elsewhere for any show in today’s environment. On a night that also saw the Season 1 finale of the renewed The Resident (0.9/4), which was down a tenth from its May 7 final numbers, Fox was up a tenth overall to a 0.9/4 to be tied for second place with an unchanged Dancing With The Stars (1.0/4) fueled ABC.

Michael J. Fox already holds the record for the most Emmy nominations in Best Drama Guest Actor at seven, but he can he could distance himself even further from the pack with an eighth nomination this year. The five-time Emmy winner is in the middle of a five-episode guest arc on “Designated Survivor” as Ethan West, a high-powered attorney hired by Kiefer Sutherland’s President Kirkman.
Now, “Designated Survivor” is far from an Emmy darling. The political thriller was barely a blip on the Emmy radar last year, but Fox is an Emmy fave. A 17-time acting nominee, he could get in on his name and reputation alone, and he’s already in 11th place in our odds.
