    Warning: Spoilers
This is actually a very well-made period piece, taking place in the prohibition days with a great cast and better-than-average production values.

SPOILERS AHEAD (like it matters in a movie like this):

Gangster Dutch (Harry Reems) has just been dumped by his foul-mouthed dame, Jessie (Cara Lott). When he meets cigarette girl Katherine (Ginger Lynn), he renames her "Kitty", and makes her his broad, much to her delight. The only problem is that Kitty is a lady and Dutch likes his dames trashy. So, he hires potty-mouthed, trashy broad Rita (Amber Lynn) to teach Kitty the ropes. Rita proceeds to teach Kitty how to be trashy with her first lesson being an educational romp with newspaper boy Jimmy (Tom Byron). Kitty begins to really enjoy being trashy and begins being bitchy and spewing obscenities left and right, that are quite hilarious coming from her, but I believe that's the point. There is another subplot involving another gangster, but the high points of this film, besides Ginger Lynn's comedic approach and Amber Lynn's over-the-top cheese, are some memorable sex scenes: The Ginger/Amber/Tom session is quite steamy, as is the Ginger/Bunny Bleu pairing, which is a lot coming from me since Bunny has never buttered my biscuit; so this was a nice surprise. There's also a nice DP performed by Cheri Janvier with Marc Wallice and Francois Papillon in a boxing gym. If you like good classic porn, get this rare gem if you can find it.
  • With the exception of Blonde Heat, the John Leslie spoof of Sam Spade movies, adult films that need to set up costumes and atmosphere for a different time period aren't very good in delivering the sex scenes we watch them for. The cast is great but only Harry Reems gets to deliver some excitement in his cum shots. After all that hot screwing, even a double penetration, just a quick jack off and it's sooo quiet! I'm sure Ginger Lynn fans will like this show anyway. But outside the big screen, the film loses its boner a little bit.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Crude mobster Dutch (a lively and engaging performance by Harry Reems) gets dumped by his current squeeze Jessie (essayed with tart foulmouthed aplomb by Cara Lott). Dutch chooses sweet and naive cigarette girl Kitty (Ginger Lynn at her most comely and charming) to be his new moll. However, Kitty proves to be too classy for Dutch's liking, so he persuades the rowdy Rita (a hysterically vulgar portrayal by Amber Lynn) to teach Kitty to be a more trashy lady.

Director Steve Scott, who also co-wrote the witty script with Will Kelly, keeps the funny and entertaining story moving at a steady pace, offers a flavorsome evocation of the late 1920's setting, and milks plenty of laughs from the amusing sense of blithely lowbrow humor (for example, it's a hoot to see Kitty practice cursing in front of a mirror). Moreover, the enthusiastic cast have a ball with the wacky material: Herschel Savage does well as Dutch's formidable incarcerated rival Louie, Tom Byron contributes a likable turn as eager newspaper boy Jimmy, and Bully Bleu adds lots of extra sizzle as amorous bisexual maid Norma. The sex scenes are suitably raunchy and energetic, with the girl/girl set piece between Kitty and Norma rating as a definite scorching highlight. The jaunty swing band score hits the snazzy'n'jazzy spot. Tom Howard's lush cinematography gives this picture an attractive sparkling look. A satisfyingly salacious good time.
  • I had been on the search in finding this movie since first watching it in the 80's. In the realm of porn it's hard to actually create something that has somewhat of a plot. This has a storyline and makes sense! Extraordinary scenes that make Amber Lynne shine in her elegance with good oral scenes with Harry Reemes, Tom Byron and Herschel Savage. Bunny Bleu does a mediocre female on female scene with a Ginger Lynne. Ginger Lynne has a great eye rolling (her own) oral scene with Tom Byron as Amber is teaching her the "ropes".

I say anybody who enjoys mainstream gangsta movies or series should include watching this. No violence but good sex!
  • Trashy Lady (1985)

    *** (out of 4)

When gangster Dutch Schultz (Harry Reems) is left stranded by his girlfriend he sees cigarette girl Kitty (Ginger Lynn) but she's too pure for him so he hires a woman to turn her into trash.

TRASHY LADY is an obvious take-off on the whole MY FAIR LADY type of story where a person must transform from one thing to another. Usually these films have a dumb girl turning smart or a bad girl turning good but this one here takes the formula and has a good and pure girl turning into someone quite bad.

The film certainly isn't a masterpiece or one of the greatest adult movies that I've seen but it's very much well-made, features a terrific cast and has some great cinematography, which is actually its highlight. The cinematography by Tom Howard is something that you'd expect to see from higher-class Hollywood movies but it's really grand. This is especially true for the soft focus shots as there are times when you forget that you're watching a hardcore picture.

The film also has a great cast with both Reems and Lynn really doing terrific work with their roles. I thought both were really good and manages to make for some nice laughs as well. Then you've got the likes of Amber Lynn and Herschel Savage in fun roles. The costume design and the sets all look extremely good as well. Overall TRASHY LADY has some flaws and it grows a bit tiresome towards the end but it's still an impressive film.
